Sumitomo or dunlop

AOA,
I am a bit confused in both the tyres brand that should i go for sumitom or dunlop as i am looking for 195/50/15 and the only avaliable options are these both only.....Help required. And plz do mention there qualities and disadvantages.

Sumitomo is the mother company of Dunlup, and it is level up then Dunlop and all others in the market.

I have used Sumitomo's on Civic and cultus both (company paid, cause expensive) the drive no words in both cases.

If you have good budget go for Sumitomo. As I said its level up than Dunlop and all others.

Qualities:-
- Soft, calm, noiseless

Disadvantages:-
-Ware out is quick. - compared to other, but a good user takes them for years.
-Expensive.

The thing that matters is Date of Manufacturing of the tyre. If the tyre is fresh preferably manufactured in the same year then go for it whether it is sumitomo or Dunlop. But i had bad experience with sumitomo. I bought tyres and later realised that they were manufactured 2 years old. Or maybe that date was even repunched. So they were very noisy and hard. So i used Yokohama decibels next time which were only 10 months before manufactured and they were great, very soft, soundless and grippy.

Previously i used to prefer dunlop but why i prefer yokohama over them is that they last longer, give excellent grip and never lose their shape. but you'd have to compromise on comfort.

I agree with u yokohama are good tyre and i personally used them.....But they are not avaliable in 195/50/15:(

Go for Sumitomo only a big pocket can have it, keep an eye on date of manufacturing should be in Blue original wrapping don't go if without wrapping, cause in wrapping even 2 years after manufacturing NO PROBLEMs and also depands on the dealer how he keep them. For help or price info in Karachi call this person Baber 0300-8282330, he and his dad are into this business since long, they were the main dealers for Adamjee Insurance before dewan came in and many other companies.

i installed Sumitomo around a year back on ma Civic 2006... just used them 20,000 km

and i am having a BAD TIME with it.... overall they look fine, but they give different sounds on high way.... i got it checked with HONDA FORT.. they replaced the tires of ma car with some other car for testing and the sound was finish...

according to Honda people the Gaps in types are not balance..

so there is only one option to bear the sound... and that i am doing

If I have to choose between the two then, sumitomo's would be my choice. B'coz nowadays dunlop are coming from china.and a frd in tyre business suggests not to use them as he was having complains (road grip,noise,de-shape) from customer whom he gave these.

bro this size is available cux i've bought Bridgestones for my car
same size 195/50/15 complete set....but im in karachi though dunno about lhr or ixloo

my suggestion would be say no to both of them and opt for another brand...

sumitom is noisy
and
dunlop has degraded it's quality..now it's just a brand name and nuthin... though rumours had it they are now chinese or sumthin...

increase few hundredx in ur budget and opt for better ones

have no experience bout sumotos dunlop is the best but i love yokohamaz, theyr the bestesttt!!!
