I have got 2015 automatic Alto. I wanted to change its transmission oil. How can I find whether its CVTF or ATF, as there is no dip stick in it. While driving it shows the top gear as 5 so I assume its a 5 speed automatic. The engine is R06A
The picture of sticker under the hood is attached.

I would be grateful for any suggestion.

I some one has 2015 Alto user manual, please send it to me.

You can ask any good mechanic to check either it's CVTF or ATF. Most probably, it should be CVTF. You can see it written on dip stick as well. Hood sticker usually do not mention about transmission oil in alto.

This is wrong place to know what type of transmission the car has. There would be a computer box where all wires originate. normally such information is written above it as it is the thing that control at or cvt etc. It is technically called ECU (engine/electrics control unit). It can be found near engine and all wires of car go into it or come out of it.

Your car engine R06 sounds more likely to be carrying CVT transmission. All you need to check further its type and if you want to change its CVT oil, I would recommend go for Toyota CVT oil instead of Kixx and any other xyz brand.

I found on japan amazon an ecu for sale that was claiming to be fitting DBA-HA36S and it read AT in transmission. You may visit this Web link

However, the Mitsubishi electronic ecm in the picture you posted appears to be without such detail. Now you have one other option. search for the chasis no. It would lead you to find details of similar cars and there you can confirm what transmission type it is. until you have not confirmed, do not ruin your car by pouring the wrong fluid in.

Just to update about Alto transmission oil. I went to mechanic and he informed me that it is not automatic transmission and turned out to be AMT automated manual transmission, which Suzuki named as Auto Gear Shift (AGS). It requires manual transmission oil SAE 75W API GL-4 (according to Suzuki user manual).

Just to update on the knocking issue.
I converted to fully High Octane and the knocking is disappeared. Actually, I got 5 litter of bad oil from a remote petrol station after which the problem started.

It is giving me 19-20 km in city and 20+ on highway.

Currently, using Total HOBC. Will convert again to mix of super and High Octane after the tank finishes.

hi,

i have 2014 alto x variant. bought last month.
my questions are :

1) i drained old engine oil that came it in and poured havoline 10 30w. is this oil good enough for it?
2) after filling tank with high octane, car loses its pick, now i m mixing regular petrol that makes it runs okay.
3) the meter is on 19500 kms. where should i get the gear oil checked, a good place that can run all the diagnostics, i m in karachi.
4) the radiator bottle has purple fluid in it, where i can find the same fluid.
5) i think this automatic cars have slow pickups. is it normal. on highway i have reached 120.
6) how can we change Japanese language in its panel, or can we replace the panel at all.

Guys my alto HA25S is knocking badly after a recent fuel fill up. Its 83k kms driven. Shell 10W40 oil is used. I have poured fuel system cleaner in it but no use it still knocks badly.

Fuel system normally takes a few refills to clear up, and this might be the cause of knocking. Second reason might be the spark plug, third might be the throttle body mass airflow sensor, and oxygen sensor malfunction. (try a computer scan of the engine control unit).

Yes most of the 660cc autos cars have slow initial pick up and gives a feel of under power when loaded with 4 adults on board.

Anyway, I don't have much experience with 2014 model as I own 2010 model. High octaine is good but not recommended for smaller engines or having low compression ratio. If you still want to use it then use it with 50/50 or 60/40 raito. For engine oil, it's best to follow follow user manual. Don't do any experiment as these engines are sensitive and incorect grade oil can make its valve lose and then you will be facing knocking.

For panel language issue, you have to google the language and learn some basic settings because it might not having English language. You should contact some good mechanic to resolve this panel language issue.
