Drive on motorway is very smooth and stable at high speed. Slight body roll feels when a very high speed bus cross it. No issue to drive at 100 kmph. Slight extra sound feels at this speed.

I just recently bought alto vxl. I've driven it like 1700 km in about 24 days. Mostly driven in Islamabad and had taken her twice on Islamabad/Hazara motorway. There were some high frequency noises coming from different parts of the car when I drove it first from showroom but they went away in couple days. After first service on 1200 KM I asked them to change its engine oil but they insisted I should stick with current engine oil for at least 5k. My concern now is, car is making terrible sounds. When I floor it (not even harshly) it sounds like "GUR GUR GUR GUR" and there is a continuous tik tik tik noise coming from somewhere around timing belt. I've never owned/ driven a 660cc car before so I was wondering if its normal or should I be worried ?

Does anyone know if gear oil also have a shelf life like that of an engine oil? Meaning my mileage never reaches 5000 kms but after 6 months i get my engine oil replaced and while my alto is driven 6000kms i have twice changed the engine oil. What i wanted to ask was if the same is also applied to gear oil which other wise needs to be replaced at 10000 kms but i have only driven 6000 kms in a year. Should i get it changed or wait for milleage to complete?

If pkdm alto vxl owners can clarify fol:1. Vxl has more ground clearance than jdm alto? And a better suspension?2. Is gear shifting of jdm alto considerably more smooth?3. Parts of pkdm alto can be used for jdm alto aswell?4. Any significant reason to choose jdm alto over vxl ?Im planning to buy either slightly used vxl or jdm alto

1) Yes slightly better ground clearance.

2) Japanese alto comes in AGS and CVT transmission. CVT is very smooth. Since no gear change. AGS is similar to PKDM, AGS in Japanese alto comes in the 2 or 3 basic variants and in alto works sports edition. The cars with dual transmission are AGS not trip tronic.

3) pretty much yes. Just that the local alto has metal fenders, Japanese alto has Fibre glass fenders.

4) Not much reasons. Peace of mind of being new is the only reason. Comfort wise a Japanese CVT would be more fun to drive in my opinion.

AGS is excellent in gears above 2

First 2 gears make the drive really uncomfortable if you are driving in small stop and go traffic

So if jdm is to be bought, alto is preferable than mira or other cars as spare support of alto is readily available with Suzuki motors?
Any significant difference in alto and mira, cabin space, engine performance, Transmission response?

Sir no personal grudges. We do what we are told to. Apnei hamei b sikhaya hai. All of Suzuki is shook. We have strict orders not to change any other cars oil.

So far so good. Also had to claim insurance for bumper repairs. Did it then and there. Both bumpers would be replaced under insurance. They don't even have bumpers.

They will order bumpers, will receive next week. And I will get painted bumpers in 2 weeks then I can go and get them replaced.

Has anyone upgraded Altos audio unit to pioneer / Kenwood after market units? Do they fit in properly ?

Android is avalible with grills and OEM fitting for 15k, Im skeptikal since the one i got in WagonR hangs alot. i want some crisp music quality.

Similar issue faced by me. i contacted Suzuki race course rwp for gear oil vxr 75w90 and they assured its availability on phone. Next day i visit them for service. Their staff dont know about this recomended grade, but they plan to pour 90w mehran gear oil costing 400 per liter in new alto. I have to show them owner manual for right grade gear oil 75w90. This specific grade gear from toyota cost you 1700per liter in open market.

Plz elaborate tik tik sound... from where it is coming... as per my info... this car has no tappet adjustment... but hydrolic lifter... if tik tik sound is from lifter..??? Then it is point of concern...

Btw don't know about anything else, after oil change the car has become much more responsive, fun to drive. 3rd gear easily stretches upto 80 if rev it hard.

I guess il change engine oil to 0W20 too. Managing 17.5 kmpl been driving it around for 2 weeks now.

Wagonr is a bigger better car anyday.

Alto has better seats. Since WagonR has Bolan, Hijet van type seats. Shape of the car is a personal preference. If you have money go for Cultus or Picanto.
