Suzuki Alto Turbo RS vs Suzuki Cultus VXL

I am looking for a second home car (I have CITY ASPIRE AT). The children are fascinated by full featured top of the line 660 cc Reconditioned cars whereas I would prefer a brand new proper shape hatchback.

From cost perspective the choice is between Suzuki Alto Turbo RS (full features such as paddle shift, radar brake, engine cage, triptronic turbo charged traction control, heated seats etc) costing around 13,00,000 to 13,50,000 2015/2018

OR
Suzuki Cultus VXL costing 14,28,000 before registration (for spares and brand new feel plus spare tyre space)

Please advice with pros and cons. Any other set can also be suggested.

Children will always want features and cool gadgets but it depends on how your children drive and how you/they maintain their cars. If they cannot take good care or maintain the car regularly then never go for JDM. Lets say your children are careless har 2 din baad koi accident kar detay hain or even minor accident apko parts ka itna rola hona hai na. Uske illawa they are going to drive a car like a race car agar Turbo Alto hai tou samajh jain maintenance bhi jaldi and proper karwani paray gi warna i can guarantee turbo will fail.and replacing a turbo or even finding one is not easy and they cost a lot.

I myself am 21 and my younger brother 19. We also wanted a second car and dad was in the favour of local Cultus vxl and i was in the favor of Wagon R Stingray but i know cars. I Study them. i know each bit about the car so thats why my dad gave the final decision to me and i bought a non-turbo Full option Alto and its really fun. Mileage is 20-22 with AC and turbo will have around 12-16 with AC (Quoting Turbo Move). But the push start and key less entry has its own ease and shashka and the anti-collision assist have already saved me from 4 accidents in the last month since i have bough the car.

If your kids or you are not a car enthusiast who understands how cars work. What maintenance is required.How turbo works. which oil is better and why is that oil better. Then dont go forn Turbo JDM stick to the cultus VXL i have also driven that its a teen dabba but still a ok car

Buy Cultus eyes closed, 0 meter peace of mind, reliable, with warranty. Children will also get used to it : )

Imagine, you buy a new (used 660 cc) car and have to take it to a workshop to fix this and that after a few months....Trust me, that's a very bad feeling : (

Me and my sons are not car enthusiasts. Steering wheel drivers only. So I guess u r right. I was lead to believe that TURBO will give 15~18 km with AC in city vs 12~13 for Cultus VXL. If there is no significant difference in fuel consumption (660 VS 1000), then probably fancy features in a hard to maintain car dont matter.

Cultus will give you minimum mileage of 16
I kept the cultus vxl also it was giving mileage of 19 with light foot and 16 with heavy foot full ac.

Yes I know airbags hain is mein and thats a very big thing from Suzuki and I almost buyed the cultus vxl after I couldn't find a clean Stingray but then I saw a 5 grade 5200km gem which was alto full option so i went for that.

I kept a cultus vxl also for a week borrowed from a cousin to test drive.
Here are the reasons I call it a teen dabba

Exterior was really solid an great
Interior was hell cheap.
Really thin plastic panels
Mis aligned panels on the inside
Loads of khar khar from plastic parts
Shock giving noise which had already been replaced in warranty once
Clarion head unit issues with bt connectivity
Rear seats were a disappointment beacuse of the head rest which there are none.

But the engine was really solid. Ac was solid. Drive was smooth and pick was nice.
Space was great.

But I ended up buying a jdm because more features that I actually use and I know how to maintain them so this was a better option for me. Since we are a family of 5 and only once a week there are more than 2 people in the car and I have my corolla for that so didn't need the extra space etc

So I guess for non-car enthusiasts who cant do the khawari of properly maintianing a jdm its a very very very good option.
And this is the reason I bought the cultus for my cousin as I know he drives like a 2 year old kid. Desi mechanics and har speed breaker pe ura k janay so this was a great option for him and other than the interior he is really really happy with the car

Yeah its way better than wagon r local in terms of build. Its more solid.
And atleast airbags and abs hain
Secondly drive is better than wagon r
It worth the money I think in my terms
You can get a jdm in 13.5 but thats 3-4 years old and used and maybe accidented
And in 14 you can get this 0 meter and 2018 model

So end pe personal choice hi a jaati hai

how would you compare the car woth honda city...the engine is very refined and the car is very reliable altough it has little stiff suspensions...
