it is for emissions, the pipes for it would need to be re-routed at the least. It can cause vapours to be exhausted in engine bay and the engine to pull atmospheric air from the port for this bottle.

It is a cheap part because it is considered useless, so best to buy it from a scrapyard

this packaging really makes me suspicious, it seems like sticker pasted on locally packaged cap.

It should be denso i think, tho i am not sure.

Did the cultus come with denso cap or not? from factory

this particular 0.9 radiator cap is made in japan but not of Denso and is available for 200-250/piece in local market without any effort. its like the GMB Waterpump is of around 2000-2200 for Cultus/baleno and the same is sold by dealerships for over 8-9k+tons of taxes with a SGP sticker on shopper.

these days dealerships sell agriauto water pump which does not last longer than 2 years

i believe you are talking about that 'Ravi' brand pump which is not of good quality. in market its available for 1000-1200 and i am sure the same is sold for 6-7times by dealerships in their own packing.

pressure rating is 1.1 not 0.9 i guess 0.9 was used to come in Carby Cultus

Anyway i would be delighted if someone will tell me the solution of the 2nd part of my post (steering assembly , boots n bush(brush) etc)

Cultus non-carby uses 0.9 radiator cap. even baleno is 0.9. 1.1 is for Liana. please re-check at your end. this would not work for your car

BTW my car has suddenly developed hard starting issue since last couple of days both cold and hot. Ignition and fuel system seems to be in order. Nothing has changed even fuel is same from last fill. Where should I start looking? It has always started on half self and now it takes couple of tries to start.

Check the tappets and also clean the distributor connector.

Most probably tappets might need adjusting.

Is it efi or carby?

They won't take it back most probably.

Get a 0.9 bar futaba cap from market. It costs about 300-400rs

You can try flooding the float bowl with carb cleaner, from the vent. Let the car idle on it a few times.

If it happened on its own and nothing was disturbed, ignition system is perfect, the carb might be getting dirty.

Maybe a combination of mixture adjustment and cleaner spray can fix it. If youre lucky

If it is high mileage, it will definitely benefit from tappet adjustment.

But if this issue arose very suddenly, it probably is something else.

Though at this point, a full tuneup, including tappet , timing and carburetor ( in this sequence) is very much warranted

Yup, it happened suddenly. I'll check in detail tomorrow. Though timing was checked 2 months back and carb was cleaned 3-4 weeks back. Odo 182k km. Tappets were adjusted a few years back
I'm expecting it to be fuel related, tomorrow hopefully I'll change the fuel filter as well as it's been a couple of years it was changed.

Do you feel the sounds on bumpy road in the steering wheel?
If yes then you can either repress the steering box bushes or you can replace the whole steering box assembly non EPS assemble was 5000rs about an year ago

TBH, i have experienced cultus in factory condition, without eps , as well as had my margalla converted to eps (which gave up about 8 years later).

I think its better to leave it in original shape, there may be some issue in your car suspension and steering that is causing hard steering, because in the right condition, cultus steering is very soft.
