GS500 cc is a crap bike.

Compare as follows.

Bandit 400 GS 500E

16 valves 4 valves (onlyyyyyyyyy)
4 cylinders 2 cylinders
Slingshot carburators 4 Simple Carburators 2
Max speed = 220km/h Max Speed = 160 or so KM/h
good Looking crap looking
price = 225000+ price = 100000 max

mr shebaz.... i own gs 500e 97 model byk....welll regarding sound bandit has better sound...n ... every one who own bandit know k iski maintainance is not dat easy as compare to gs500...welll regarding speed 190 tak jata haii mera gs500 bike..in 6th gear with rpm needle at 9...maiany bandit ki max speed note nahin ki... i change 2nd gear at 90kmph.......n yes price of any bike depends on its condition...well gs500 is more economical den bandit....n in short both r street bikes...

GS 500 E has low running & maintenance cost & simple engine. In all other aspects (performance etc) Bandit 400 (GS 400 F) is ahead of GS 500 E

Bandit 400 is a classical semi sports bike no doubt technology is far-ahead then gs 500 because of 16 valve 4 cylinder but 16 valve on 4 pistons are so small , smaller then a cd 70 valves so no durable also bandit 400 becomes absolute in 1994 last model
gs 500 got 2 pistons 250 cc each which is almost bigger then that of bandit piston with only 4 valves gs 500 is not a obsolete bike

Coincidently, i own a GS500e over here in Qatar.
Ahh, this is my first bike, and i started riding only 8 months back.

As a first bike, this feels to me perfect.

And regarding maintenance, Cmon guys, pakistan mei to Carburettors k Magicians bastay han THat should not be a problem...

ONe thing i want to ask from GS500e Owners, where do u get this Handle from, i mean, can u tell me which handle to look for, i'm planning to get it from pakistan.
Also, ANy engine mods to your bikes?
