Another New Update and a question too:
Recently, I bought Castrol Radicool Premix SF 50/50 Coolant for Khyber. Now with a working heat gauge, I proceeded to operation "Cooling System".
Step 1) Firstly, I poured ABRO Radiator flush in the System and drove around 20-50 km to flush and clean Cooling System:
Step 2) Sourcing thermostat valve was main focus. First I tried Suzuki dealership for Mehran's Thermostat Valve(part no.: 17600-85811) but it was unavailable and I heard from different people that its diameter is small for Khyber and won't fit. Then I started looking for bolan's Thermostat Valve (Part no.: 17600-85831) and found it on Pakwheels Store. After Confirmation I ordered it.
It is Japanese and I checked it at theirs official website by part no.
Step 2) I then checked the thermostat Valve by boiling the water and dipping it in the water for 5 seconds and repeated the process 3-4 times to check its functionality:
Step 3) I then flushed cooling system of car, unbolted the water flange, installed the gasket, dressed the area with silicon sealant, installed the thermostat Valve and it clipped into position.
Step 4) Water flange was installed next but my brother over-tightened the flange bolts a little too much and it cracked due to small lips of thermostat valve as highlighted below (I am now considering torque ranch for this):
Step 5) After a minor set back new water flange was purchased with new gaskit and it was installed properly. Water was then filled in the radiator and car was started:
Step 6) Water was still in the radiator with no swirls or motion and after needle reached the half mark water level went down considerably. Water was then filled to the top and we observed swirl and motions same as before the procedure and it also indicated the thermostat valve opened up as expected:
Our plan was to drive it around 100 kms to check everything and then replace the water with coolant.
But after driving the car around for 70-80 kms or so, yesterday when I was on Shahrah-e-Faisal road I noticed the gauge rising to just below the threshold point. I steadily reached home:
I was little suspicious of radiator as well of it being not cleaned properly.
So, today I went for radiator service and found that water level was little low and also radiator is single channel (Single Nali). It is of denso and working properly and was not chocked or anything but I think it is not sufficient for our purpose now. Radiator is not stock but it is of denso single channel Alumunium which was installed 8-9 years back by my father.
Kindly guide me where to find proper and good radiator for car
