The car came to this state because of pure negligence. But both me and my elder brother were completing studies so had no time to tackle the problem. Anyways, Trying our best to rebuild the car to it's true state.

Sadly our painters and dentars are so over qualified that they dont hear and do the work the way we want for our cars and with our money. they are ruthless and have no mercy fo our money as well as for our cars.

so, we cant find a perfect one in our environment. The ones who are doing perfect work are already booked or overloaded and they dont have time to work on small old cars.

so, the game is, find a good dentar/painter recommended by two to thee guys, keep a keen eye on every nook and crack when the work is in progress. Share progress pics on the group so members here can tell what to correct and what not todo.

Frankly speaking, personally I am never satisfied by any denter or painter or Mechanic or electrician or a/c workers but we have to live with them as we have no choice.

Some are 19, some are 20, some are 19 &1/2 but more or less, all are same. However last time, I repaired my family's car from Sagheer Centre. Truly speaking, "Goli woli /Topi to us ne bhee karai" but at least he listens what you say, secondly his job was neat and clean in final outcome product so bear that denter painter.

I have done my cars on insurance claim from both of them so no issue in color matching, dent points came but yes, you have to show and deal them with patience

i have been looking at multiple forums, WhatsApp groups, Facebook groups for updates regarding Khyber maintenance / repair , but unfortunately majority people i could contact were from Punjab hence their references were not of great help for me (i am in Khi).

Please guide me as should i stick to the stock engine (over haul reqd) or shall i go for an engine swap i.e. Vitz 1300cc. i have checked with Mohsin Autos Karachi and obviously they suggested for a swap as that's where they can produce more margin for profits. Mohsin Autos claim for a better & hassle free drive, better fuel avg,, easy availability of parts, lesser engine noise, power steering that can be reliable, better ac cooling etc. etc. An engine swap with all other alterations, it will cost around 1Lac50K - 1Lac70k

Shoot them in the behind... Every mechanical part for a Khyber is easily available... The problem is with its garnish and body parts...

Find yourself an instruction / repairs manual for a suzuki G10 and read it.

what will you consider a decent fuel avg (with ac & with out ac) on stock engine while travelling with in khi city?

I drive mine with and without AC with AC 9-10 without 12 not more.. the engine is genuine and never overhauled petrol driven and has 150k + on the Odo.

Yes Mohsin Automobile is quite costly. They will take your old G10 in free and take 150,000 additional for swapping 1.0 Vitz 1sz-fe.

I checked Ghareebabad market and shops near Mohsin Automobile.

Shops are selling 1sz-fe Engine in 75,000 with ecu and automatic transmission.

Shops are selling 2sz-fe (Vitz 1300 cc) in 80,000, engine with Ecu and automatic transmission

Choice is of user not of workshop. If you want to repair old one, even G10 is repairable. Parts can be arranged in Karachi easily too. As @omersiddiqui5482 bhai told, yes garnish parts and accessories are difficult to find but mechanical parts are available(of course, Little efforts required with little difficulty but not impossible)

Same fuel avg on my end ,, what confuses me is people claiming an avg of 14-15 in city with stock engine and stock carb .... and there is not only 1 but multiple people i have contacted and they claim to have an avg around 15 in city.

i agree with the information you provided .... the confusion is that , a swap is better than stock ? or will be not worth spending that much money on an old car (i have 1998 model)
