Suzuki Mehran vxr-euro-2 (2014) engine swap with K6A

I am looking for a competent yet affordable workshop in Lahore, from where I can get my Suzuki Mehran vxr-euro-2 (2014) engine swapped with K6A automatic. Along with that I also want to install power steering.
* Any suggestions on from where can, or should I get this done?
* Moreover, any idea about how much will it all cost? I asked from a few mechanics which I found online, but the price difference is very confusing.
* In addition to that, I also heard that it affects the fuel average, so also tell me does it decrease the mileage, because I have to travel on long routes as well as in the city considerably.
Any advice you could give would be much appreciated.

remember all 660 engines are from scrapyards. rebuilding is impossible due to non availability of new parts. You may regret the swap within 6 months.

@faisaln_ahmed k6a is not a bolt on swap in mehran got it done a few months back in my 1997 mehran mounting needs alteration but trust me when done right it you will be a happy man it depends on your mechanic + electrician to get the things right as if wired correctly it will not trouble you my mechanic did a wonderful job but unfortunately electrician messed up a few thing but got them right my self witch check engine light cleared car is performing very well MashAllah fuel average is around 16…

Thanks a lot for the information, many people have done this and are doing it, a significant number among whom were satisfied with it. moreover, I've also talked to some mechanics, who are giving a guaranty of one year with their work. Yet again, the price difference is confusing. Also, does k6a engine have CVT (continuously variable transmission)?

the engine is fine as it is. do not swap with k6a.

only swap transmission if you want auto.

swapping a k6a in a 1997 mehran makes sense.

it does not make sense in a 2014 mehran which already has an efi engine.

True that. But doesn't the transmission swap significantly reduce the mileage? That's what I heard from some mechanics, as well as from someone who did that with their vehicle.
Actually I am looking for an automatic transmission with good fuel average (with adequate ac), within a limited budget.

only cvt and the new AGS transmissions will provide better mileage.

conventional torque converter transmissions will always provide less mileage then a manual car.

You are right about that. So, Is there any 660cc engine available with CVT or AGS transmission (Preferably CVT), which can be installed in Mehran?

More than one mechanics just confirmed that R06A engine is way too hectic to install in Mehran. Not feasible at all, mainly due to the advanced wiring/electronic technology.
So, the only practicable option in this matter is to insert a K6A engine. Also, even in that one, only 3-speed automatic can be placed because of lack of space in Mehran. In Bilal-Gunj, most of the sellers usually ask for 50k to 60k for this engine, depending on the condition & your bargaining abilities of course.
A well reputed mechanic from Johar town Lahore quoted: Labor - 30k + Electrician - 10k + AC, Axel, etc 10k. I also asked for power steering, for that I was told between 10k to 15k. What really confused me there was, at the end when he told me that you should keep in mind around 150k for the whole project. Which I couldn't justify.

As I mentioned, I've read, and heard several reviews of those who tried changing the transmission only. In fact, I met some in person too. All of them noticed a significant reduction not only in mileage but also in performance. Also, K6A engine produce 63NM of torque at 3500–4000 rpm, considerably more than that of Mehran, i.e, 59NM @ 3000. Thus, not under-powering the car. And To be frank, I am tired of explaining and teaching the clutch and gear combination/working. I want a car which ladies can also drive easily, & the deterioration during the learning process ought to be bearable. A scratch or a dent on Mehran won't cost as much as on a Hustler or any other like it.
As far as I am concerned, I am fine with this car. The Euro-2 - EFI engine is good with fuel average, and AC performance is reasonable. At least way better than its predecessor carburetor F8B one. Moreover, its "power steering" helped me increase my biceps size.

if you want to stick with a mehran, i would suggest you leave your current mehran as it is.

buy an old cheap mehran without an engine and experiment with it.

suzuki would probably be using a jatco cvt.

jatco makes transmissions for several brands.

Yes, and JATCO newly develops the “Jatco CVT-S” specifically for mini vehicles. But there isn't adequate room in Mehran for a CVT transmission. That's what a mechanic told me, I am not sure how much of it is true. Also, he said that not even a 4-speed AT 660 K6A can be fitted in there, gotta go with a 3-speed one. But that provides good results too.
I called a shop owner in Bilal-Gunj, and asked him for the price of K6A. He told me that I can get it for around 50k. I also asked him that for how much can I sell a Suzuki Mehran vxr Euro-2 (2014) engine. Firstly, he advised me not to sell it, and keep the engine in case I want to sell the car in the future, so not having an original engine can affect the resale value. However, he said I can sell it around 15k - 20k only. Whereas the mechanic told me that he can buy this engine from me in 30k. Nevertheless, right now I am doing a pre-feasibility study. A bad habit which I got. I am a Mechanical Engineer myself.

do not under any circumstance sell of your original engine. that resale issue is genuine.

3 speed auto transmission can not give good fuel economy compared to 4 speed transmission
