I have been watching comments on xli for many days. Have few observations:
1) Its true that dealers are saying that prices are increasing 30,000 with effect from May 8 or 9. But not sure that whether its a sale gimmick or what.
2) One can not say that website of indus is current and updated. Just see/check the price of 2.0D. Website is saying that its 1419000 but it was already dropped/discounted to 1319000/- more than 3-4 weeks earlier.
3) I have checked it from Suzuki dealer (a freind). Its true that suzuki is planning regarding truelife, where dealer/company will buy old suzuki vehicle and sale them after refurbishing
4) Suzuki is not the competitor of Corolla or City/Civic. Irrespective of high prices people are buying corolla and civic, as these vehicles belong to upper middle class people. I will post the statistics of sale/production of 2008-9, which shows the worsely affected sales was of suzuki, becoz its vehicles belong to mostly middle class and salaried people. May be thats why they dropped the prices.
5) Decrease in duty or tenure of imported vehicle if altered will definetly affect the sale of corolla and honda after budget.
6) May be if corolla and honda increase price, they may be forced to drop the prices, after budget if duty on imported vehicle is decreased.
7) These giants may play their games before budget to earn more profits
8) Chances are more that duty on imported vehicles are dropped (for govt's revenue generation)
9) Its a matter of shame for our govt that our corolla and honda giants are selling pakistani made vehicles at such hight prices. Just check out the corolla site of USA. The lowest price there is about 15000 Dollars, which is almost equivalent to Rs. 1200,000/- and the version is much advanced than this one in our country.
