have you confirmed it? i really do not think so. the airfilter must be of Guard as Guard makes excellent stuff of very high quality. it easily lasts 10k+ km in all my cars and costs under 400. suzuki people charge insane premiums on parts. the oil filter they use is made by Guard too.

in Karachi, i buy my air filter from suzuki defence and it costs 1485 (price might have increased as I got it 6 months ago). It is the imported one and the rubber gasket and filter paper is better quality.
i have used guard as well (also got from suzuki for 450) and there is difference.

I once felt very smart buying Rs199 air filter for swift from hyperstar, as if I got a great bargain.
At home, when i opened it, the gasket was hard plastic and paper was really thin.
Saved it as a backup in case i need it, and got original from Suzuki the next day. I wonder how bad its filtering is.

i am talking about original Guard filters. they are extremely good in quality and almost 25% of the price. whole point is that Suzuki 3s people sell parts/consumables at insane prices. i have a Liana and i always use Guard air filter for around 400 rupees. it is good to go for 8/9 months around 10k kms and then i throw it away although it can be re-used after through cleaning. not only in Liana, i have always used it in all my cars since day1.

Its not being happy or not. Its about how openly they are looting general public. I have multiple experiences with Suzuki 3s with my multiple cars and I have always found them extremely disappointing esp w.r.t parts prices. They comfortably charge 3/4 times (atleast)more of same product with just a wrapping of SGP.

Man this is what I am saying. Same products of same quality are available openly in market with ten times less price. I know my part wala who tells stories that the 3s directly comes to us to buy parts as they never keep parts in stock due to huge costs. The 3s buy from open market and makes invoice of same 10times amount and customer thinks its all from pak Suzuki. How on earth can 3s justify AC belt of Liana for over 3k when best quality Bando belt is available for 350 rupees?

I am agreed with @abid110 here. I'm putting imported filter fir swift getting for 400rs from a filter shop in gawalmandi rwp. I'm getting air oil(Leppon or VIc) and AC filter from same shop and never faced any problem. On next change I'll share a picture also.
Compared it with suzuki air filter on first purchase and honestly I've found locl market filter much better than 3S one. There are a lot of qualities available in market but one have to search according to his budget and requirements.
One I'm using is mafe of flexible rubber gasket and excellent quality paper.

There is enough space to fit a full size bag till power is concerned i have a gli 2010 and a swift myself it drives way faster with better power took it to babusar top with gli not even visible in the back mirror lol. Im a daily driver on M1 and Swift never lets down compromising power...

yes i am not amazed if this air filter is costing 1400 dollars too because the car manufacturers earn insane profits by selling parts too - one of the many examples - i changed water pump of my Liana - its same as Swift and Jimny as they are having 100% same engine. in market the japanese GMB pump was for 1400 and NWP (Nissan Water Pumps made in Japan) was for 1750. i chose NWP. on the other hand, 3s/dealership sells the same part for over 16k (i heard somewhere) and its same GMB pump or sometimes the most inferior one made my RAVI Lahore (available for 800 in market). but yes, the dabba will be beautiful printed with Genuine Part and one is happy to get 'genuine quality product'. with all my extensive experiences of maintaining all sort of cars i owned i came up with the finding that noone (or very very few) buy parts from 3s except for Company maintained cars or Insurance claim vehicles.

In my previous car (mehran) I used to change front wheel bearing after every 6 months (local roadside mechanic give bearing in 300 Rs each).

Once I had to replace the bearing and due to shortage of time I went to suzuki dealership, they charged 900Rs for one bearing of same brand which I was using before. I asked that why there is price difference. They said that you were getting fake part with same serial number and same brand name. I had no other option due to shortage of time so I asked them to replace. They replaced bearing of both front wheels.

Now comes the actual thing, surprisingly the result was amazing, Those bearing lasts for 2.5 years without any noise or trouble. then i sold that car.

So as per my experience Suzuki or any other dealership cost you more but gives 100% genuine part.
