Swaping 1sz-fe assembly with 2sz-fe

Hi all, to increase power and improvement in milage i decided to swap 1000cc 1sz-fe with 1300cc 2sz-fe. A mechanic proposed that to only chnage engine assembly to 2sz-fe and automatic gear, wiring and ecu will remain same of 1sz-fe.

What you people recommend, if any one already had such experience please share your experience. Thanks

But im afraid 2sz-fe ecu will not work with automatic transmission already had in the car

i believe that 1SZ & 2SZ engines are NOT coupled to an ECT Transmission in any of hatchbacks.
check your vehicle ID label over pillars decode trans/axle code and verify via google if it is a generic CVT transmission or an ECT. incase of an ECT your reservation will be correct in that case you may need the transmission swap as well.

am sure you do not need transmission swap., but for optimum fuel economy and engine performance use the 2SZ FE ECU

Update:

Swapped 2SZ-FE assembly/engine block of 2nd generation vitz, after driving of 1476KMs without any check light. Nothing is changed except V-Belt and little alteration of exhaust pipe. The 2nd generation vitz come with electric power steering so to accommodate old power steering the timing chain side cover is modified.

Pick is improved, no load from AC, braking improved; economy achieved on motorway is 17Km/l with AC.

Assembly cost Rs. 58K.
CatCon (Chines) Rs. 9K.
V-Belt Bando 4pk1810 cost Rs. 1200
Engine Oil Rs. 3300 (10w40 changed after 1K and switched to 10W30)
Oil Filter Guard: 300
Mechanic: Rs. 5000
Documents Update: Rs. 5000

Hello the engine seems to be clean, hope it serves you well. Please do share the price for complete 1.3 engine with gearbox? Why didnt you go for 1NRFE or 2NZFE. What model of vitz is it?

Yeh, thank you and insha ALLAH. Its 1st generation vitz. 2szfe comes with CVT. Not sure about CVT price but full swap including assembly, wiring, ecu and cvt was costing more than 2 lacs. so opted for swap with old automatic gear. preferred 2szfe as i was told that 2szfe is more fuel efficient as compared to 2nzfe and both 2nzfe and 1nrfe is not compatible with 1szfe ecu.
