@akifjanjua welcome back long time no see, yaar sochta to bohat hoon aur yeh Unimog busssss ANTTT cheeeez hotee hai. I think before that Isuzu 2.1/2 tonne 4x4 truck I should go for this beauty.

Unimog 600l 421 has the same engine as the 240D. Engine model is OM616.

thx dear, ground work is complete as of engine, only assembling is pending. machenic was busy this sunday but hopefully within this week InshAllah we will here good news.

Sir you got the answer from aisheikh. 240D has enough power required to get the mog moving.

dear have you finalize on the mog we saw yesterday or still look for soft top?

That mog looked in a pretty bad shape (your vehicle is much cleaner). I think we should keep our options open. I have uptill end Feb to finalize a vehicle, so would keep on looking. Do you know of any G Class that maybe available as a project.

dear G Class is the best option, I have seen one performing to its limit in IJC freindly competition on 5th oct. G class option was given to me by cotec (IJC member) but it was over my budget. I might opt G class as well for replacement of my car in future.

Dear DeeDee,

Nice project and excellent effort to revive this vehicle. As per my knowledge the Unimog is best suited / suitable for desert terrain and is highly unstable on mountainous terrain.
Its suspension is optimized for desert terrain to an extent that it will not overturn even at a tilt angle of close to 45 degrees.
I wonder what sort of off roading you are looking forward to.......

this is the ideal vehicle in 4x4 trucks.. the 2 1/2 ton is too big

i hav been planning for a trip to 26 no chungi.. im thinking of making a camp trailer.. need a M416/M100 trailer in good condition.. let me knw if u ever see one

thx for appreciating, sir mog is good at all terrain and believe me 45degree is lot to handle. yes you are right only in pakistan, Army limited it to desert and just because of that it had stamped as desert vehicle.

dear pics will be coming soon, currently only upload spare parts pics that i have bought till now:) I have not started paint work yet as i am waiting machenics work done before the paint job. planning to keep the drivers cabin as close top to be protected against rain, snow, heat,

By the way I have been reading up on the fast axels for the unimog. Does 421 has fast axels?

don know abt that, let know if you find out.
421 axles can be best fitted in cj5 and cj7 because of its wheel base that suits cjs' 421 short wheel base is 88" and long wheel base is 102".

there are lot of unimogs juncked and one can find axles for modifications to cj. with unimog gear box and differential locking. I believe if someone dare taking axel modification punga in cj, it will become one hell of a ride.

Best of luck n wish u success in ur project. just a small sugestion, why dont you make it a Compact Caravan and plan for some long-road-trips... i.e, across Pakistan, thn extend it to China, Central Asia, and Europe??? Even you can hve fun with it in Arab and African deserts..
