Wow, that good huh? Reading all the magazine reviews, I had the impression that people were slightly underwhelmed by this car. Maybe it's the relatively high price? - which incidentally seems to be problem for the Noble M600 as well what with the new Mclaren coming out.
Going by your review, I'd say that it has the agility and tactility to compete with the 911 and Cayman and still be more comfortable and liveable day to day. The Toyota engine wouldn't hurt there either. And I agree, for a car like this a good wide powerband is better than a high RPM power hit. It'll make gliding over unknown roads all the much easier.
About the gearbox, I read it was from an Avensis diesel. That means it'll be tough enough to handle abuse and torque, but it might be as you said, a bit slack and imprecise.
As for the sound, these days, I'm more into induction noise than exhaust noise. With an NA V6, I suppose one can make a pretty fruity engine note. Not "GT3-RS raw", but nice and rorty.
Do you think someone who's looking at this car will also be looking at a GTR and an M3?
