no matter which UPS / inverter you buy but dont buy Mercury UPS inverter. I bought (1KVA) it last year after reading good reviews of it on pakwheels. This year it started giving problems of draining battery. When WAPDA voltage falls below the average , Mercury UPS / inverter switch to battery and despite having WAPDA available , the machine consume battery charge and drains it.
I took it to Mercury warranty center and there the non cooperative staff told that this problem is in all mercury UPS. I asked him why do not you write it low voltage range on the pack and he smiled wickedly.
No matter which UPS you people buy ...do not buy mercury UPS. and check low voltage tolerance range with whatever you are going to buy

get a used APC . the worlds top ups . forget a new one its sky high....

No match with local ore Chinese UPS's its a class apart and much more reliable.....
I am using the same for more then 5 years now, never needed a repair or anything.....

Installed new Inverex UPS. It has all protections and 20A for fast charge , 10A for normal ... using it for 5 days. switching is fast, tube lights and fans are running like butter.

don't even know when grid is off and UPS is on... means no extra sounds. was gonna get homage but shopkeeper in Hall road recommended this over homage and said its not local made like homage and have batter services as homage is crowded.

specs: 1420 watt , 24 Volt.

I have a Aurora UPS. It Charges battery very slow so dont buy it, its useless. It runs for 15mins after 1 hour charge.
I have an old locally made UPS. It is much better than Aurora, it destroys battery in a year but it runs 1hour after every 1hour loadshedding.

Get the fast charging circuit from aurora under warranty. It will destroy battery in one year as well but will give one hr by one hr backup.

I took the UPS to there service centre a month ago. Explained them the problem. They kept my UPS for a week, then returned it and told me that the problem has been fixed. I came back home and set it up again, and the same old slow chrging thing was there

1 hour charging is giving 1 hour backup easy, running 3 fans at full speed , one 45 watt light, three 11watt lights, intercom and 2 tube lights. never had loadshadding more then an hour so cant say for how long this setup will hold this much load. 10Amp is selected instead of 20Amp on inverter charger switch.(which charges faster but damages batteries).

im using it for a week now... so far it seems batter then local UPS. switching is faster but fans are slow initially and regain its speed in 5-10 seconds ....

believe me i have tried imported and local ones.
imported ones are light weight and modified sine wave (so less noise and no frying of dimmers of fans and capacitor) but if u want no noise than u will have to buy pure sine wave like APC. but big problem is that these always produce 220 v fix. so the quality of light is good but backup time is reduced.
another thing that these have less Amperes to charge the batteries,and jo hmare mulk ma halaat hain, 2 hr light gone and 1 or half he ati he,so these fail to charge.i have tried Aurora 2000 Va91200 Watt) recently bought from Hyperstar. and i had my local 1200 watt too at time.
the backup time was very less in aurora and it kept giving 220 V and than finish
Instead the beauty of local/desi Ups is that when the battery gets low the reduce the output voltage but the fans keep running at low speed.almost 1 hr backup time diff i noted with 2x175 Amp batteries running 3 fans and 3 savers.
Another advantage of Desi UPs is that now these have nice kits in them,AVR,low voltage batt charging(even if WAPDA is giving 160 w than these keep charging but your imported ones fail if voltage drops from 190/200.
we can adjust how fast we wanna charge the batteries,how much backup time it will give (completely draining the batteries or saving some etc etc
we can adjust when it will trip(if computer restarting,no prob u can fix than just by adjusting low volt button
Another thing that i measured the consumption of imported vs desi
imported was draing 9 amp from battery and local was 5 amps. man than mean u can run extra 3-4 fans on desi than it will be drain same amps. hell of a diff
another thing i measured imported one's charging Amp to batt,it was ginvng just 9 amps(means almost 3-4 hr will need to charge the batt 2x175 amps but Desi was giving 22 amps,i out of curiosity increased the amps and it went upto 35 Amps,man !!!!!!!!!
i just upgraded my desi UPS from a very nice and perfectionist electrition and bought another desi too 2000 va(1200 watts) in Rs 14000.
but imported one costed me 2000Vs in Rs 19000!
desi UPS almost any electrition can repair but imported one's ap ko zalil hona para ga.
And any one wanna buy my aurora 8 month wanaty remaining,i bought it in 19 K but i can sell it in 15K.Usko pack ker ke me na bed ke neche rakh dia after beater up badly bu Desi UPS

Branded UPS"s always break down. Plus they dont have any service, I am using a locally manufactured UPS for the past 5 years and it has been working like a charm. We have 2 units and require just change of battery water every one-Two months and battery replacement every 2 and a half years. The guy who installed it is a UET graduate and always comes personally if there is any problem, he is extremely courteous and does a wonderful job. I am sorry but I cant quote the company here as this is against the rules of this forum but if anyone is interested u can PM me, I will give his contact details. His UPS company is based in lahore

Hi friends it's an informative thread over the available UPS, as my friend was in search of UPS with the battery and last weekend he consulted me. I am having homage 600w UPS with 200 AMP battery

My recommendation to him was pur sine wave UPS as my current UPS causing noise in my LCD and fans during operations.

We went to the market and found following option:

1-NS UPS 600w pur sine wave for 15.5k (no display)
2- homage 2400w for 38k that can be used with 2 batteries (with display option)
3- AMS 600w for 16k if I remember correctly (with display)
4- Ecostar 600w for 15.5K and 820w for 18.5k (no display)

We selected Ecostar, but why !!!!!

1- better built quality
2- having DC breaker built in
3- product of DWP with local warranty, tough all of above having local warranty as well but DWP group is strong among others but comparable to homage and having products like gree AC, LCD, solar power please visit their website.
4-Voltage regulator
5- 10amps and 20 amps charging opyion
6- Pure sine wave, tough above all are pure sine wave
7- can run on Genrators as per company without any issue, tough most of UPS rung quite well on gensets but some are creating issues.
8- person dealing was having good knowledge of UPS

Then we went to buy AGS 200 AMP battery which we are able to secure in 18.8k

He got installation done in 1.5k +17rs per meter wire

In my opinion AMS seems good as well and people using these brands with pure sine wave may share their experiences that may be helpful for prospective buyers during coming summary.

My Advice is buy PUR SINE WAVE only, that will help to protect your electronics and fans in the longer run tough they seems little expensive initially but saves one later on.

Yes, EcoStar is fine choice, its build quality tell you the truth plus strong after sales support
We installed 1000 Watts, 2 battery option recently, its cost was about Rs 20,000
The cable you have selected is not good, these Rs 7 per meter cables are just ordinary china copper cables, you may opt for full coil of any good brand pure copper cable, that seems expansive but justified for long run and with this type of UPS

Bro he wrote 17 rs per metre and in that rate you can buy single 3/0.0029 wire or may be double 3/0.0020 wire of good quality like newage,pakistan

Seems to be a nice choice but which UPS you bought 600 or 820 as 600 is too small for 200amp battery. Also post some pictures of the package. Have you checked the maximum load it can take. Because the local 1000watts UPS seem to die with 5 fans on i.e just 400 watts load. If 600w can run 4 fan and 4 light than its not expensive because the 1000-1200 watts available in market runs same load and available in range of 12000-15000 and that too modified sine wave. If its true than I am going for it when I will change my batteries next time, because these chinnese ups also take a lot of current to charge. My 1000 watts ups takes up around 3-3.25 amp when on charge that means 650-700 watts and that is too much

I did a little research some time ago, and the result I reached on was that no 12V UPS no matter how good can give you a pure sine wave. You need a 24V UPS for pure sine wave. Anyways, thanks for sharing stuff here. Loadshedding has really made life a mess

yes 24v sin wave works fine. blower inside peroidically to avoid dust build up causing overheat or blown IC

May be you are right, but this Ecostar seems fulfilling the purpose as there is no sound from fans while running and LCD is not giving zzz zzz zzz sound. The only way to test 100% is oscilloscope which I don't have

And yes there were no sine wave ups in the market with this range earlier, as my self having homage

Ns one was not giving any sound on the fan when we tested in the shop but AMS don't get tested.
