Yes, certainly second hand . APC ups are very good but little delicate. They are software based so if current output gets disturbed due to some faulty battery its software get corrupt and you have to reinstall the software. Its very rare but it happens.once or twice a year.

This software reinstall is user manageable or we have to contact vendor for this?

I have tried to do so but as its their trade secret so have to take unit to vender for installing the software.

Have been using an APC Smart 2200 48V and APC Matrix 3000 48V for the past 5 years and Alhamdolillah haven't faced any major problems till now..

These UPS are absolutely great and worth buying but one must be 100% sure before buying one that it's not REPAIRED at all!

Otherwise they work great.. they have many safety precaution features e.g. Overload trip function..

It gives Pure Sine Wave as I've confirmed that from viewing it's output on an oscilloscope!

And a brotherly suggestion, if you're really planning to go for any of these and keeping in mind the amount of loadshedding currently and in future.. You will need to buy an extra battery charger (20A/30A), if you really want to have a peace of mind!

Sorry bit off topic. But want to ask is there any harm using LCD on ordinary ups? it creates sound when plugged in on UPS.

If your LCD has an external power supply/brick, it is fine. Internal, then forget it. You will end up with a huge bill sooner or later. One of my friend earns his bread and butter (also owns the shop) by fixing electrical appliances and mostly, big LCD's are there with a fault in there power unit/supply.

Yeah i agree that non repaired unit should be the choice, but the problem is one can not really rely on the seller and there is limit to what can be analyzed visually. Can you share from where you bought your unit. Contact details would be appreciated as i wish to make a purchase ASAP.

buy it if you are getting a clean piece and also try to find 110Amp Dry Battery which are also used one but trust me APC UPS is best using that UPS in my office for 05 years

Well they are High grade UPS designed for Network devices, servers etc. in data centers. I work in the Telecom sector so I have seen it deployed a lot in enterprises. Its a high reliability American brand and not designed by a diploma holder sitting in a small room breathing solder fumes. For detail you can read up here Smart-UPS - Product Information.

Cutting to the chase, comparing APC and Desi UPS is like comparing Horses and Donkeys :). Donkeys arent without their merits.

It's becoz of people like you who disrespect local labor you are the facing the problems. It is the labor that build a country. A diploma holder is still a very technical person and without proper training and industrial outlets and jobs he has to sit may be in a small room and breathe lead. Get a grip on yourself. You dont know me so dont judge me. We a arent discussing the diploma holder here but the UPS technology. The 3KVA model mostly present in the market is SUA3000RMI2U, and the 2200VA equivalent is SUA2200RMI2U. These are more prevalent because these are the models used for Data centers but other models are also available depends on what your supplier has.

These UPS typically supply low charging current (typical 4A and upto 10A) as they are deployed in scenarios where there is usually Genset Backup aswell, and also power outages are not as common as we face here.

The charger will simply be connected in parallel to the UPS connections to the battery.
