Dear All,
I have imported a 1.0 Turbo hatchback Civic (2017) SE edition from UK. The car will arrive hopefully by the end of this week.
UPDATE
The car was purchased in on 17th May 2017 after detailed inspection at yard by a friend in UK.
After waiting for almost 3 months, the car finally arrived at Karachi port! Took about a week to clear and was shipped to ISB for some work. I Alhamdullilah Received it finally a week before EID.
After ordering the vehicle, i had various doubts about how sensible the purchase is, a lot of people asked me why didn't i go for the local Civic. Since it is brand new and would have costed less. At times it was depressing since i had already signed up.
The car lacks some features available in PKDM Civic such as a Sun Roof, Push Start, smart entry and the fact that it is a 6 speed manual.
The moment i sat in the car, everything changed. I suddenly stopped worrying about the stuff it doesnt but fell in love with the stuff i does have.... And really what it does have is priceless....
Starting
I love the way it looks, side by side with the PKDM sister, overall length is only marginally short. The rear seats have better head room. The fabric inside is top notch. Very very premium, the upholstery just feels too expensive. The details, the welds, the paint quality is just so much better than the local one. The hatch boot is very practical.
Now ..the elephant in in the room.
The Drive...
The 1.0 Turbo is a master piece. Working well with the local Hi-Octane (95 recommended). The little engine has tremendous ego, it just taunts the local 1.8 NA. The last 1.0 litre i owned was a Suzuki Alto lol.... The stick shift is a treat if you love to drive... its buttery smooth, its easy and its precise...not to mention effortless due to a very nice clutch. The last manual i owned was 8 years ago .. a 2002 City EXIS.
Mileage, if driven for it, i did a 100 km in city with 8 litre fuel (as per the computer) but this fig can quickly if i push too hard .. over and over... it achieves 17 km/l on ring road with ACC locked at 100. I am sure same can be achieved on motorway. The variable ratio steering not available in PKDM is also a very nice feature, steering feels much better at low speeds and very precise at high speeds.
Safety
Overall eight air bags. Rear seat passenger seat belt warning, Collision warnings, Auto Braking, Lane departure mitigation , Lane Keep Assist & Adaptive cruise control. It loaded with safety sensors. I have test ACC and it is pretty cool, with LKAS the car is pretty much autonomous and can follow the lane through curves and turns very nicely. Due to a lighter engine, the car handles much better than the sedan.
Sound System
The factory speakers are very good as compared to what we get in local civic. With 8 speakers, i feel no need to upgrade to comps or add an amp... might just through in a sub since i have always had upgraded sound system in all cars i have kept. the headunit is a turn off but i have already ordered pheonix android headunit with grip to grip fitting to the original wiring.

Total Cost 55k (15k WHT & 10K Income Tax) both adjustable.
Lifetime Token Paid.... Making it the only tax free for life civic in Pakistan
Verdict
Its one of a kind in Pakistan by the looks. It does turn heads... some in admiration and some in curiosity... Drive is simply amazing, cabin is much quieter.. I crave to drive it everyday...
