Could'nt help commenting on the safety issues discussed above. My parents bought a City in 2006 with catalytic converter which although is not a safety device but an environmentally friendly gadget. In 2007 Honda discontinued the catalytic converter, under seat storage bins and a few other gagdets and lowered the price by Rs 20,000. My deduction was that since people or the government does not care about the environment in Pakistan so they thought it better to cut the cat converter and bins and reduce the price. same with the airbags in they Swift. If an air bag equipped Swift costed Rs 1,020,000 and one without air bags sold for 1,000,000 I am 100% sure that most people would go for the cheaper one except maybe Pak Wheelers:). Its all about the economy guys!

^bro thanks to some Japanese imports and the internet knowledge and awareness about airbags has started to increase to some extent. If there is an airbag version for 20,000 extra a lot of people will opt for it.

My brother Airbags, is not such a feature tht you can add or remove at your own discreation. i hope you must b having a pretty good idea about the localization policy of car assembling in Pk, and accrding to it 10% of the car has to manufactured localy in the first year. this 10% includes mostly the whole plastics, rubber and the seat coverings, due to least technology and cost involved in them... so bro Adding air bags would involve changing the whole design of the dashboard and steering from within, involving further designing cost, not to mention the highest level of technology and skilled labour required for the task to provide wth aN effective and reliable end product. all resulting in hefty increase in cost...
So why not simply import it as a whole part??? well bro tht would involve double the cost mentioned above, keeping in view the current import policy and difficult and risky to find a sustitute part for the meeting of parts localization term..
So THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT YOU CANT JUST ADD OR REMOVE THINGS LIKE THAT DUDE...

MASHALLAH its a very nice car. i kinda love this car alot. saw 1 yesturday in grey color and man that car lood huge so i guess k brighter colors main tou our mazeed bari lage gee. this car has got my attention nice very nice Paksuzuki.

guyz leave this airbag thingy aside plz, im sick n tired of this corolla(xli) doesn't have airbags too and alot of other things are missing but still ppl are crazy for that car, be it bcoz of resale, fuel efficient or sumthing more but still ppl are buying it so iss bechari swift k peeche kyun parh gae ho aap logg. xli does not even have power windows hahah, its given as a option by toyota loz, how unfortunate is that so aap kya expect kertey ho jab car makers like toyota is doing such things.

-well buddy, it hasnt completed its first full tank yet, but after monitering mileage and fuel guage the average is coming around 17-19!
-No own paid, as i am strictly against the own culture, got the delivery within 30 days.
-well havent registered it yet, waiting for the new series to start inorder to get hold on a good number!
-interior quality quite impressive, just required alittle bit polishing as the the cleaning guys at showroom swept a wet cloth on all the interior!:-#
-braking and handling, SIMPLY LOVING IT, after all thts what we have paid for in this "LITTLE giant"!!!

-'On' or Premium in Lahore for Swift is currently around Rs.40k-50k for White & Maroon color.
-Registration would be around Rs.40k
-booking price is 9.99lac plus 8k octroi/transport.

Well The registration cost was for Rs. 39,000 (isb), which was quite cheaper compared to Honda City's Rs. 51,000 Registration cost!
Well with the seat covers, floor matting and all cosmetic accessories, the SWIFT would cost Rs. 1,050,000 and Hell yesss, Every moment you drive it, YOu get THE RETURN On your each Penny PAID!
