On the PSO at Serena (Sakhi Hasan), PSO near mosque Baitul-Mukarram (university road), PSO near Nagin chowrangi (nowadays Nagin multi-storey flyover) and PSO Al-Madina near New Karachi powerhouse roundabout. (They have mostly chosen areas where people would prefer cheaper fuel). I think it should also be available on the big PSO station beside McDonalds block A North Nazimabad (not confirmed just saying because it is a big place). An E10 banner is also placed at the PSO pump at Manzil Pump (Shabbir tile) but I haven't checked.
You'll spot the E10 logo on the board above the fuel dispenser (I don't have a photo so it is difficult to explain). I mean they have pasted stickers of E10 logo just beside the PREMIER XL written. E10 is not available at all the fuel dispensers on any station.
PSO has printed ads in many newspapers which list all the pumps where E10 is available. Posters with similar content also on every pump where E10 is available, but I don't know why don't they publish it on the website for public's ease.
Regular petrol is not octane 95. (In some parts of the world even high octane is not 95). Regular is around 89-90 octane. And if kerosene is mixed by some unscrupulous pump person, octane number drops even further.
It is not mentioned anywhere that ethanol is 10% by volume or by weight. Can somebody update plz?
Ethanol has its disadvantages. You can't use E85 or E100 in regular gasoline vehicle because it will eat away at the rubber fuel supply pipeline. You need a flex-fuel certified vehicle for that. Also, ethanol is hydroscopic (means it will absorb atmospheric moisture). Plus ethanol production facilities actually use more energy per kg production of ethanol than is provided by burning 1 kg of ethanol so a big debate about ethanol as a viable alternative fuel is going on.
