i traveled in last May and they stopped me at Saeedabad toll plaza both times and tried to play with number plate of my car which was the initial one (issued with new car) and wanted to create an issue like you cannot travel with this number plate outside Karachi/Sindh, but couldn't do much as i stood strongly on the point that formal number plate haven't been issued by your dept excise & taxation and also showed copy of Tax Slip where there was a stamp 'Number Plate Not Issued'

this is so shameful to what Sindh Police is performing duties for and try to harass people on irrelevant issues to steal money!!! on the other side Rangers stopped me at Kot Sabzal (Sindh/Punjab border) and politely asked about 'how we are doing and everything is fine' and let us go without a moment delay..

I have traveled on my own car 3 times from Isl to Khi during the last 2 years, and alhamdolillah nothing that bad happens with me ever, i can take only Registration Book (copy + Original), CNIC (copy + Original), Driving Licence (Copy + Original) with Original Islamabad Number Plates.

I think nothing more will be required.

I am planning to travel with family to sukkur from Multan. I have company assigned car with registration book, along with authority letter in my name, valid driving license. What else shall i need for the round trip? Idea is to leave Multan very early (0400 AM) and travel nonstop to sukkur.

U need fuel, cash for food and stuff and a plan apart from that usual car n personal docs .. nothing special .. prob is police wala can ask anything on a rough day n nothing on a fine day even if u r traveling on a stolen vehicle.. but remain bold n firm if u know u haven't done something wrong.. i don't want to label police as institutionally corrupt but unfortunately reality is bitter .. good luck, safe travel

Just to add I have traveled at least 6-7 times with family in last 1.5 years that includes both ways but honestly Alhamdulliah not even a single time I was being stop by anyone. I strongly second Moderator input as I myself never faced such issues.

Whereas on one round trip due to some reason I don't have vehicle documents with me at all. I only carry Licence with me. Nobody checked anything on both side.

Vehicles on which travelling was done

1- Pajero 88 Islamabad No (Lahore to Karachi then Gawadar and back to Lahore. (No such issues...)
2- Indus Corolla KHI No Lahore to Karachi and Back to Lahore
3- Corolla Altis KHI No Lahore to Karachi and Back.

With the grace of Allah I have very pleasant experience so far on this entire route.
