infact start a bit more raw than that. I would suggest that you study the design architecture of a chassis, for easy work - buy a junked FX or something like that, take out the front suspension and mock it up on stands, then understand what it is - reverse engineer it.
After that you need to step up to other brands and see why they did that. After a few tries you will sort of understand weight distribution, wheel relation to chassis, CG etc.
Building a go kart is useless as you only get to work on a flat pan - some engine and other bits - might as well buy a CNG ricksha and make it a go kart.
