Toyota 2C Diesel Turbo Install

Hello friends, I own a Toyota Wagon with a 2C diesel engine and it is a very very reliable and dependable engine.

Being a diesel, it is well known for sluggish acceleration and low rpm performance but a very very TORQUEy powerplant.

So I got a Turbo.

This 2C is a non-turbo version hence the injection pump there will be no fuel enrichment during boost... Eco-Diesel? VW?


So at the shop a Flange was made.

A simple Log-type exhaust manifold was designed

A down pipe? and turbo flange is added.

This is the final position.

Oil lines and air ducts to follow. :)

Nice modification , however why you interfaced Turbo isn't it adding complexity to simple mechanism for short lived boost ?

Sir jee tubro will damage your engine there is heck of difference between 2c and 2c-t piston

2c-t piston have oil hole under oil control ring to keep it cool under boost
And 2c-t have low compression piston tubroing on stock piston will damage engine block

if science has it, its way it wont ,sorry but there are too many basic things wrong with what you are trying to do.

well for starters like fellow poster pointed out you need different pistons connecting rod big and small end bearings to say the least a turbo charged engine has greater peak pressure than naturally aspirated ones. using stock pistons is gonna break them sooner or later, most likely sooner. second u are not adjusting fuel air ratio means u won't get the performance ur after cause you will never have proper combustion of good fuel air mix the car will run lean and give white smoke. third like i said turbo engines run hotter cause of air gets heated when compressed by turbo and the more heated ur intake air the more heated ur exhaust air you will end up with an exhaust thats around 150 to 200 c hotter which translates into damaged gaskets and engine components. one way to bring down thats heat is through oil and oil cooler or by using intercooler to cool intake air . thats why almost every turbo diesel has an intercooler with it

if u want turbo diesel then get the 2c t or get another factory turbo diesel. thats the safest, smartest and economical way

yes this has oil cooler and will install an external oil cooler but no intercooler yet

it will give white smoke because u are giving it more air than the fuel delievery system is designed for. for example say in naturally aspirated mode it is designed to suck in 1g of air and so the fuel system injects 14 g of fuel , but with turbo it gets 2g of air but just 14 g of fuel cause of stock fuel setup , so the engine will run lean and give white smoke. an external oil cooler might delay the inevitable but you will break ur piston well before u burn ur gaskets. just get a 2c t .instead of building up ur stock 2c its gonna cost more

go ahead bro, u asked for advice i gave you , your engine, your car, your money and your time. but just ask yourself this question if the only difference between 2c and 2c-t was a turbo , why did toyota bothered with making various changes for 2c-t

Because that was meant to have full boost, fuel enrichment and full power gains.

Yes sure the engine may not have been designed for a turbo, but if the installation is done properly and the fuel system is not over fueled for very high gains, then aftermarket turbocharging a diesel engine is a safe and reliable option.

Diesels don't create white smoke when lean. Read your Diesel facts.
