Discuss issue with my mechanic he recommended to change fuel pump or fuel filter? What you recommend?
when the mechanic open the fule pump the filter sack may be clogged, can be cleaned to reuse.
need to change fuel-pump only when it fails, Filter is washable item for reuse.
Having the same issue with my Altis, same model. I'm also facing an issue of a gargling when I accelerate.
open up the fuel pump check the filter sack ( take pictures & share if possible ) Rail pressure starving happens due to bad fuel filter & cause engine hiccups.
Yes fuel filter can be cleaned easily and lasts 150k kms with cleaning at every 40k kms, but in this case don't you think this is a matter of spark plugs or catcon?At OP when did you change its plugs?
the 1st step in vehicle stall, engine hiccup, failure to throttle response is check for fuel pressure in the injector rail, low pressure or loss of pressure is attributed to clogged fuel pump.
rest of the items are down in line for diagnosis.
As simple it can beJust start your car, pop open the fuel lid only and put your ear over there and try to listen a blowing type of sound, if you hear it then it means your fuel pump is going bad !Btw fuel pumps dont go bad that early but if you drive on an empty tank then yes you can burn them out earlier !
If finally you will be asked to change the pump then go for complete assembly i.e Fuel pump & fuel filter. I just got it changed today in GLI 2009 i was having the same problem on highways only. I got japanese from local market in 12k. Toyota 3S are asking for 48k for complete fuel pump+fuel filter an 15k for fuel filter alone.
the car does not have CNG kit and when tank is empty liquid fuel car will not start
What i meant was driving on E till you engine shuts off.

at the time of purchase what was the status of old book ? was it there?
No its wasnt i was driving on open letter now i am about to sale it.... When i checked the file it have old book with token slips but there is big paper with all details the old traditional one
I was driving on open letter but now when i need to sell after checking the file it transpired that the old book is there with only token tax slips the main page the big folding one is mossing
that big paper is the regn document., open letter vehicles are now considered benami property & subject to confiscation.
get it transferred before you land in any trouble. In Karachi snap checking of vehicles have already started and the Traffic police with Excise dept officers have access to NADRA & Excise data base in real time.
The old book with that registration documemt was defaced as i have got the new registration book called red book in lahore.... If that old book is mandatory what are the options to retrieve.... Also can i get it transfered without that.... Its lahore registered.
goto excise office and hire an agent, he will resolve the issues of transfer for some extra fee
