Just outta curiosity, was wondering how long do the gear boxex on these Beltas / Vitzs last as you are aware that they are CVTs and if I'm correct I remember reading that they don't have that long a life and the gear boxes die out after a certain amount of kms . Pls correct me if I'm wrong.

In days past, people have kept cars for very long periods past 500,000 kms even. If you check on the Yaris forums also many have Yaris running at 400k km but I dont think they are CVTs. So my question is if I plan to keep my CVT Belta / Vitz for a longer period of time for say a max of 300,000 kms, is it considered a reliable car in the long term as the older model cars like charades etc that we still see on the roads?

Change your CVT fluid periodically then you won't have to worry about a thing.

But, to be very honest the CVT gearboxes aren't as ''bullet-proof'' as the conventional 4-speed gearboxes. They are tough!

AoA Everyone,

I called up Toyota to check how often should I change Engine oil ( I put 4L-08880-80004-SL/CF TGMO Petron Engine Oil along with Toyota Oil filter)

The guy advised me to change it after 5000KM when I said It was put when I bought the car in August , he said 5000KM OR 3 months (whichever comes first)

I want you guys to advise should I run 5000 KM (irrespective of duration) ? Its been 3000 KM only at the moment.

Why would you change your engine oil after three months when it hasn't even been used?

I change my cars engine oil at 4000-4500kms max. You can change it at 5000kms too, BUT it depends on ones driving conditions.

Assalamu alaikum.. brother i am using Toyota Belta 1.0 model 2006 and Qouta 2009 and no matters how is driving conditions are i always change Engine oil on 3000-3100 Km Max... i am change oil filter one every second oil change.... and MASHA ALLAH my car is giving me 21.5 Km per liter on motorway... and please dnt use Zic oil if you want to protect your engine thanks... and i am using Toyota Engine Oil from the start of the day i bought my car.... just change your transmission oil on every 40,000 Km so it will increase transmission life and any 1 you tells you to change at 100,000 Km then he dnt know anything

21.5 Km/Litre... That's Amazing Mileage MAN!!!... You must be only driving it on motorways... Or driving on High Octane....

WOW ... 21.5km/l is the 'full tank' average or is it specific route average? Common misconception is to full one tank - drive 100 kms - full tank again and calculate mileage ..... but if its a full-tank-to-empty mileage then its AWESOME

Ok; I changed at 48,000 kms when is the next change due? At least they are tough enough and I don't stress my gear box out, just normal city driving.

some one said me that belta don't needs any type of tunning, you just have to clean throttle body, filter & plugs .. what u say about this??
