I recently bought 1000cc Belta only 7.8k km driven, willing to change engine oil. As per manual 5W-30 engine oil is recommended but I found in this forum a different grade oil is suitable for Pakistani climate. Some have advised to use 10w-40 or 5W-40 as it will be good in local environment. The dealer who sold this car also advised me to use mobile super 10w-40 oil. Secondly I also learnt from some where in Pak wheel that one should use 0W-40 super synthetic oil for relatively new cars? and use recommended oil after 3 to4 k km mileage. Kindly guide me about engine oil grade and suitable brand. thankyou

Aoa. Brother. I ve been using shell heilix 5w. 30 in my Belta and no problem. Quite recently I shifted to shell heilix ultra 5w.40. Even better experience than heilix 5w. 30.

Walaikum Salam. Thankyou for the prompt reply. I mistakenly wrote 3 to 4k instead of 30 to 40k kms. You also changed oil grade after using the oil recommended in car manual. It seems as there is no clear formula regarding the use of specific grade oil but it is more of personal experience?

Belta manual says to use 5w30 oil. Fully synthetic oil is the best with the same viscosity.

Salam.Alhumdulilah i bought Belta 2007 Model 2 days ago.Its amazing car with Awsum drive and comfort.i broght the car from LHR to Multan.While driving i felt some noise from steering side.It was like some things hits inside the steering,i went to the mechanic.They checked and told me,the sound is from Power steering motor which is placed under the dashboard....i checked that to electrician he also told the same ,,so please guide me what to do now?Should i change the motor or go for repair?

Congrats on purchase.
First thing i wud suggest is get satisfaction of mind by taking it to toyota and get a thorough checkup. Get all lubricants checked n replaced. Throttle body may need cleaning and tranny oil replacement If the mileage is above 50k.
Let them figure out the problem and then we can discuss further.

i was in lahore earlier but currently living in District Muzafargarh near Multan.So if there is any good electrician in multan then i can go there.Actually the sound coming is not gut gut sound ..it also comes on jumps and rough road.its like some sort of iron hitting other iron stick.as some losse nut bolt inside power motor making noise.So i m confused actually some electrician told that by opening power motor ,the software of car gets effected...and again installation will be needed???

Well for the best fuel economy, use ZIC A+ (new name is ZIC X7 FE 5w-20) or ZIC OW (new name is ZIC X7 FE 0w-30). Both of these are excellent.
5w-30 is best oil to use throughout the year.
And for Longer change intervals, use 5w-40. Shell, ZIC XQ, Mobil, etc.

May I know what is its Fuel Consumption now? (with shell 5w-30)

well there is no argument regarding manual recommendation but many in this forum with experience and I suppose with knowledge as well writing in favor of synthetic oil 5w40 or 10w40. Secondly, they are also advising to use imported oils e.g liqui Moli which I think doesnt have 5w30 oil. I ve read many comments from belta/vitz owners against Zic. and some have made discouraging comments for other oil like shell, caltex etc etc. I dont know where in karachi I can buy original imported oil , and filters etc. You asked about fuel consumption which is not possible to calculate at this moment as I have driven my car only 20 --30 km.

The more we read others opinion, more we become double mind or confuse.
Simply, follow whats recommended in Manual. Or you can experience by yourself by using different oils as per “others opinion”.

My opinion, is, never run after imported oils. Shell, Caltex, Total, Mobil, engines oils are best. Liqui Moly and others are just simple products with high price tags which becomes attraction for many of us.

on Xulfiqar Bhai's recommendation i am using Delo Gold Diesel Engine oil in my Petrol Car and results are more than satisfactory. Because my car is old and needs older grade engine oil. And Delo meets/exceeds all the requirements.

Reading more is dangerous when you follow it blindly. In fact manual gives choice of engine oils according to temperature but problem is two fold
1) Range of temperature given in manual does not match with our climate we usually have higher temperature in summer exceeding 40 degree Celsius while manual is talking of max 30 degree Celsius.
2) I did not find any thing in the manual in relation to old and new engines requirements.

As far as choice of brand is concerned it is only because we live in corrupt society, every other person is corrupt until proved otherwise. Therefore I am not comfortable in pouring locally packed oil in my car.
