Hi guys
I have a 1000cc 2009 belta . driven about 94k
I got it in 2012 so single owner here in pakistan, it had done roughly 42k then
The car has been driven by me mostly and well maintained
However, the car is giving blueish white smoke at around 5500+ rpm
Upon googling the matter and checking various forums, one of the simplest suggestions was to change
the pcv valve.
As you can see from the pictures, the valve was badly choked
I have never had any mechanic check this valve in 6 years of owning this vehicle though on other forums its recommended to change this often
I couldnt find the valve at either local shops or toyota eastern .. so i installed a similar valve for suzki baleno
changing the valve probably halved the smoke and reduced the vibrations
but there is still smoke coming out
I have driven 1300km since the last oil change .. which is 10w-40 FUCHS ... hardly any oil consumption
which suggests oil only enters at very high rpms ... (i only discovered the smoke while idling ... i dont think i ever ride the engine so hard that its at 5500-6000 rpm while driving)
I have visited two reputable mechanics, both suggested damaged piston rings .. both suggested engine change or experimenting with 20w-50 oil with a smoke stop additive
If anyone has had similar experiences please share
Is changing engines any good ?
Ppl are suggesting even if i spend money changing the engine ( 1.3 allegedly costing 80k - scrolling up in this very thread it seems it was selling for 26k only 2 years ago)
i wont get it back when i sell the car
Dealers on jamshed rd giving price of 8-8.5 lacs ..
for that money i can only get crappy cars
Both dealers and mechanics suggest smoking is a common issue with 100k km + 1kr-fe engines
The car currently averages around 11.5-12 depending on traffic .. my avg daily drive is around 40km
I believe the piston rings got damaged when engine was flushed using crappy stuff by oil change ppl .. i didnt know better then
What to do ?
Thanks
