Thanks brother. I am not sure if the assembly of 1-KR/fe will be available in good shape. an open engine usually does not produce same output and performance. I will be visiting the mechanic tomorrow and will get an idea on way foward. Any Karachi brother who can refer another trusted Belta mechanic so an opinion based on historical work can be acquired.

belta i bought recently is 1000cc engine is in good condition... but i am facing issue with the fuel consumption
it is giving 5-6.5 km/ltr
Previous owner ran it on cng and then uninstalled CNG and changed the engine, so this is engine has'nt been driven on cng but only on petrol
i checked the trottle it was having a hole in the ring so i changed it and i changed the cataliyic converter too as its grill was already broken..
so now throttle body, catalyic converter, plugs, engine oil, filters all are changed but still not much difference can be seen in the mileage,

what should i do to get better mileage or atleast milaege that is avg which is 9 - 11 km/ltr

ASA... last Saturday my old Pathan mechanic made my day. He is not the one who did initial diagnostic and manual cleaning of engine parts and oil pump.

He asked me to sit back n watch. He opened up the oil chamber, removed the oil pump filter, washed it with Soda water, dried it, blew compressed air through it and installed it back and fitted the oil chamber.

Filled the old oil back in, restarted the engine with 15 min idle run. NO oil light popped up. We went for trial for a good 5 km n no oil light.

Its been 3 days of daily run n Alhamdolillah no issues. So will be using till Saturday, will visit him and get the engine evaluated.

Planning to get CVT teansmission oil also replaced after flushing and cleaning.

how to check these valves?
i have changed oil to 10-40w (all plugs changed)
no smoke is there
alignment is ok

i will check for the gear oil and valves today
meanwhile sir i have noticed one thing, it starts making issues in pickup when more load has been given such as when i use AC and headlights all toghether
i guess there is issue in wiring i spoke to my mechanic he said that as this car was used on CNG before so its better to change complete wiring as their are a lot of cuts and extra connections in it, i have already got a new set of wiring from shersha will ask electrician to do it tomorrow

Is it possible if this mileage issue was due to this wiring fault and might be possible due to this some sensor stoped working?

sir will check these Valves today
for now on sunday i have changed complete engine room wiring and inshallah today will get the fuel pump changed

10w-40 is not recommended for 1KR-FE.Next time keep it on low viscose oils like 5w-20 or 5w-30. Don’t go for 40 or 50

Brother TinTin why is 10-40 not recommended? I read on JDM blogs its suited for our environment. And frankly, its running good on my Belta as of now, especially after the sludging issues I have just come out of. Kindly advise if its an alarming to use 10-40.

Many thanks. I agree to your opinion. however the first change after this slugging cleanup was a very thin one and it did not bring out any alien material when drained. Hence I tried a thicker version with more high temp. rating. After this one I shall move back to 5-30 options.

It's giving you low mileage because of power to weight ratio. Your 1000 CC engine is underpowered foro this body mass. A common issue with 1.0 Belta

5w30 api sm or sn of any company
For best bang for the bucks try total quartz 9000
Fully synthetic engine oil

Also, is it normal for engine to give white smoke in the morning cold start? The smoke goes away after the engine reaches optimal temperature. ODO reading is 78000 km.
