Irrespective of the high demands of the potential sellers; issue is, what else can one do?

Prices of brand new cars have gone insanely high, and they are not even worth their prices. Then poor economy situation, ever increasing Dollar rates, etc. situation is almost becoming out of control.

Prices of used cars will keep on increasing, as long as prices of brand new cars keep on increasing. They have direct relationship with each other. If new car's prices become stable, the used cars prices will become at sane level, or rather depreciate, but until then, nothing can happen.

Even if people stop buying used cars for some time (like weeks, months, etc.), they will come down, but again, who is going to wait for that much time? and what will one do in the mean time, if he wants a car? and does not have any? Of course he will buy a car (as he has to), and sellers take advantage of this thing, and exploit them.

Charging as per market rate for 3-5 year old models may make sense, but asking 12-16 lac PKR for 15-25 year old model Honda City, Civic, Corolla, etc. does not make sense IMO.

I am not favouring anyone, but unfortunately, our market conditions aesi hi hain.

I myself am looking for a reasonable Sedan in reasonable budget, but no luck yet. People are asking somewhere in between 10-15 lac PKR for 94/95 to 2000 model Corollas, and in no mood to negotiate.

Low priced are severely abused (the ones in 8-9 lac budget), and good condition, well-maintained, neat and clean ones are above 12-13 lac PKR.

And same is true for Civic.

A good thing can be to go for off-market models, like Liana, Lancer, Sunny, etc. but they have their own issues and problems.

Indus Corolla is no doubt, a very good car but demands ranging from 10-15 Lacs are insane...
Unfortunately, in our country, car showroom dealers and some "Home Based Car Dealers" is a Big Mafia, who directly influence the market prices. This is further augmented by availability of modern online car buying/selling platforms like Pakwheels, OLX etc.
So for Popular and Hot Selling models like Indus Corolla and 10th Generation Corolla, prices are way higher than their counterparts and this Mafia is always looking for "Shoqeen Log" to sell cars at their exaggerated demands. Having said that, Good lock with your search...

TBH, I now am personally looking for a "market ki gari", but not successful yet, due to either; 1. High demand (car is good) or 2. Abused cars (price is reasonable).

I think, I will have to settle for off-market car, if not successful till few days.

I've recently purchased the car i was looking for, in excellent condition and at a justified price, but this happened after endless search of more than 3 months. I daily scrolled through and contacted sellers at online markets (Pakwheels, Olx, facebook), wandered from showroom to showroom, contacted relavant people and travelled to cities 6-7 hours away, only to return disappointed.
If you don't need it urgently and can afford some time, you can find your desired car in good condition and at a reasonable price. But for this to materialize, it'll take a lot of your time and energy.

Actually due to current lock down, now I am not having a dire need, however, when offices will open and I may not be having any ride to do day to day matters, etc. then real problem may start for me.

Yes, that's definitely a problem.
I sold my last vehicle to maternal uncle. He was kind enough to pay me beforehand without taking the car. So I was fortunate to have a car with sufficient cash to finalize deal for another. As for you, find a kind uncle, CD 70 or a quick deal...

I have bought a Toyota Certified 2012 Model Altis 1.6 SR (Manual) from T-Sure. Condition is Excellent. I bought it for 18 Lac. Vehicles in this condition were being sold in excess of 20 Lacs.

Salaam brothers, few days back i was searching for such a thread for 10 gen corolla and today i found it great . Any ways guys iam from Hyderabad & I work in Karachi & travel to home (Hyderabad) on every weekend, I am willing to buy a car & my budget is from 12lacs to 13lacs max & my requirements are, Sedan, Fuel Efficient, Easy & Economical Parts Availability, 1000cc to 1300cc. I have a bit of heavy foot but not a racer. I am not much of a car geek but just know the basics of driving & maintenance i have shortlisted the following cars:

1- 10th Gen Corolla (Gli or Xli) (If i should go for it then max how much should i pay for it, as per the people on pakwheels i have seen insanely high prices for this model!!)
2- 5th Gen Honda City (Is this model possible in my budget?)
3- 9th Gen Corolla (Gli) (I don't much like the shape of this model, but if i get a well maintained car might go for it)
4- 7th Gen Honda Civic (Eagle Eyes) (I used to have it)
5- 4th Gen Honda City (Facelift) (Which variant will be good as per my requirements)

My family members are willing for a sedan but as these cars are old will have to do extensive hunting to get a good condition sedan. However I suggested for the New Alto (still under consideration) but no one is still agreeing with me on it. Any ways guys these are my requirements which I am considering can you guys suggest (with pros & cons) to which car should I go for.

Yes you can get city 5th generation in that price range.
I recommend corolla 10th generation and honda city 5th generation or 4th generation.

I had the 10th gen Corolla Gli Manual for 6 years and boy it was amazing model from the design to the suspension and decent fuel economy. Bought it 0 meter in 2009 and sold it in 2015. It was with me for almost 6 years completely stock and a running of 135,000 Km and was still a beauty and no money spent on it other than filters, oil and pads, No issues for 6 years straight. I had the money so decided to upgrade to 11th Gen but 11th Gen is nothing as compared to the 10th gen.
Once i have funds to buy a third car i will definitely buy a 10th Gen Corolla again.

Good piece of information..
I have 10th and 11th General Corollas under use at home and I'm in total agreement with your assessment. I enjoy the drive of 10th Gen Corolla more than that of 11th Generation. In my personal opinion, Altis 1.6, 1.8 and Grande are good variants in 11th Generation but if one has to buy a Gli or Xli, then 10th Generation is a much better option.
Secondly, can you share the buying and selling price for your 10th Generation Corolla GLi?

As far as i remember i bought the car in Feb 2009 and price was 13.62 lac invoice inclusive tax i think but dont remember if 13.62 had registration also included or not.
Car was sold mid 2015 13.40 lac

Avg selling price for common colors at that time was 13.5
And for odd colors it was really bad like 12-12.5

I was able to get a good deal even with color Shimring Green just because my car was a GEM. 1 Scratch 1 inch long on fender and the rest of the car had no dents not even scratches minor or major. Other than bumpers no piece was painted. Car was totally maintained from Toyota Motors from day 1. Car was ISB registered. Car had no desi modifications other than factory fitted fog lamps (Yes factory fitted fog lamps on Gli.******If anyone wants the story behind it i'll write it up just ask *****) , factory fitted leather seat cover, factory fitted steering wheel covers and neck pillows.
