Toyota Corolla - 2, 1999 with Diesel Engine

Aoa brothers. I've just bought a Toyota Corolla 1999 Japanese model. It's an embassy auctioned car and registered (Islamabad) in 2015. The car is in pristine condition with 125k km genuine on the odo. It's 2200 cc diesel with automatic gears and a 3C efi engine. It's my first experience to keep a diesel car.
I need your assistance regarding the following: -
1. What periodic maintenance I need to perform?
2. Please suggest appropriate engine oil for this thing.
3. The car is running fine, should I do an engine tuneup?
4. I live in Rawalpindi, do you recommend that I get it maintained from Toyota 3S?

1.For diesel you need to change oil after 2500 kms and with oil filter and you are fine
2.As for engine oil I'll suggest you to go for 15w 40 brand that you like
3. You can try if it becomes better with a tune up (lol)
4.yes u should go to 3s dealerships but you can take it to a trusted local mechanic except for electrical and mechanical part replacements

Use delo gold oil, change the fuel filter after every 10k kms, Always give it a min to warm up before departing.
Get the filters changed, there is no tune up for diesel engines
I would not recommend the 3s stealership, because they would rip you off and then when the time comes that they get stuck, they would say that since we didn't sell this model, we can't fully fix it or lack the tools/parts for it.
Best to go to a trustworthy mechanic. If you have one, cool,if not, go to Darwaish autos in Chor chowk, besides the china hospital. They work honestly, cheaply and reliably.

Thanks for the suggestions please. It's equipped with a 3C-E engine. Please tell the exact engine oil capacity of this engine.

Moreover, do I need to get the injectors serviced and / or Should i pour in some injector cleaner liquid? Also what's the schedule for glow plugs replacement.

@dayrider an experienced guy has suggested me delo silver. Why would you recommend delo gold?

I use that, been using that in all my diesel vehicles with no complain to date, hence I suggested it. The rest it's your choice, the manual of 3c should be available online

Since it's 18 years old car, although low mileaged for it's model, I thought that fully synthetic oil won't be appropriate.
I went to Toyota Rawal Motors for the oil change yesterday. I choose Toyota Dezon 20W 50 (For diesel engines). Also had headlight adjustment and wheel alignment done.

Had the diesel tank full yesterday. Consumption economy seems good. Drove the car for around 20 kms with 20 min of idling and the needle hasn't even moved a little.

Bros could you kindly suggest regarding replacement of ac/ cabin filter. Whether there is any in this model? From where could I source it and for how much?

I think this model has no cabin filter, but still do check it behind the passenger glove box, by removing it.

1. Yes, diesels are awesome, my 2002 2c 2d saloon's needle falls to 90% after a 100km drive and returns 670-700 km in 42-44 liter diesel.

2. delo gold ultra by caltex is the best engine oil you can get for that engine, delo silver is monograde so it is ghee when you are starting a cold engine. dezon is also a good choice but delo gold is better as it has lighter viscosity.

3. since you seem to have a 3c-t (turbo diesel) you may use a 3500-4000km oil change period. I use 5000km on my 2c when mostly driven on long drives and 4000 when it is excessively idled and used more in city traffic,

and remember though the oil immediately turns black after change in a diesel, it is a much tougher oil with detergents and it is more alkaline so even at 5000km it has good enough flow characteristics.

Took out the glove box but couldn't find the filter.
Is it possible to insert filter of any similar car or there is no need of it.

My engine seems to be in perfect nick. Don't you think the less viscous delo gold ultra could ruin the old engine habitual of having delo silver - desi ghee / Dezon for sometime.

If it has no place for cabin filter from factory, then no need to be worried about it. Just enjoy ur ride man. I think cabin filters are introduced after 2000, and ur car is 99 I think. So dont worry.
Even honda people do not put cabin filters in their new cars, u have to put in, after taking delivery of ur ride.

Really? My City '15 had cabin filter at time of delivery.
