Nobody is trying to look at the bigger picture here. IMC is trying to sell out 11th gen as much as they can now before launching 12th gen.
They did the same in case of 10th gen when they introduced the sportivo variant with body kits, and in case of 9th gen they brought some new colors with alloy rims. In case of 6th gen they brought limited variant of 1.6 gli and 2.0D.

Some of the replies in this thread are too harsh on the OP. I find it fascinating how an initial response by a senior member on discussion threads sort of develops a trend for others to simply follow in the same line of logic.

Those responses are a bit like when our ministers say "if daal price is high, don't buy it, buy chicken instead - daal price will come down automatically". It isn't as simple as you guys are making it out to be. Also criticizing market manipulation (by those who can) isn't that wrong either.

Why was Yaris introduced? Because a decently equipped Corolla is out of the reach of many. Why is a fully equipped Yaris still cheaper than a base model Corolla (Gli)?

It is an oligopoly. When I say I have no choice. I talk about "real choice" as any first world country buyer has.

Wishing for first world choices in a third world country is bound to be an exercise in frustration. It is a lot of hard work over a long period of time to develop a country with rule of law that can offer its citizen the sorts of choices in cars you want, and other things besides. It cannot happen in a day or even a few years, but decades upon decades. There is no shortcut.

Faulting the manufacturers in Pakistan for the policies of the government that create the environment you do not like is equally pointless.

I think we should understand all these auto manufacturers are here for business and as we do not have department for check and balance, they will do whatever is good for their business.

They are not here to listen to each customer/prospect customer feedback and change their business model

Why they introduced facelift? Because at this point of time they cant afford to launch 12 gen but at least they have given few changes along with price increase whereas suzuki is still increasing prices without making any changes

I myself am a huge fan of JDMs and have purchased and imported more than 15 cars for friends and families (Toyota Pixis GSA 3 is in transit as we speak). Still, I booked a Zero meter Corolla for myself. Why?

Because I couldn't afford a full option Mint Fresh import Vezel and Axio/Fielder are little cramped inside and have very low ground clearance. I weighed it all out, went for Grande cause that's "the best possible option", and may not be "best possible car". These are personal choices

About the PKDM prices to be high, it's Govt and they are sleeping. They are selling average products, we (including me) are buying them. Fighting here with each other is not going to resolve anything, no matter this thread goes on for an year more

Verdict: Buy what you feel like as per your analysis and satisfaction. It's as simple

My friend you are correct in some ways and people just started bashing you because of one poster and the others followed him like sheep. But believe me neither toyota is scamming anyone and these people (even if they were a bit too rude) dont benefit from IMC. Our economy is in tatters and pkr is as weak as it gets. More than 50 years of bad policies have led us here and the current regime isnt going to do anything positive either.
We as a country are just too poor to buy good cars. High manufacturing prices and high taxes have caused this. Toyota and all the others are not looting us. They are also suffering because sales are low for them and they cant afford TNGA overhaul because its expensive so the best they can do is sell us a “navi corolla x”.

Just because rest of the comments follow in succession to the senior member's comment doesn't mean others are following him. Others are free to state whatever they feel like so long as the content is within the acceptable norms of discussion. Don't get me wrong, I respect the OP's feelings but he needs to look around too. In general, this is not only IMC or Local Auto Manufacturers' issue. They are running businesses, money matters for the being a numbers game. You and I would have been doing the same trust me, by squeezing every penny out as profit. Here, its the job of the Govt to step in, take charge and regulate things. But they aren't for a simple reason.......most in the Govt must be the stakeholders too. But, lets not divert from the core issue.

As per my experience, if you want the best bang for your buck and good value:
In Toyota (Corolla): Buy at the time of facelift for not only a facelift but few bells/ whistles (features)
In Honda (Civic, City): Buy in the first year or next because Honda Atlas doesn't provide much value upon facelift.

Now coming over to the core issue, where the OP has bashed IMC for this facelift. I think its a good enough step if not great. They've given the potential buyers' a choice. Take it or leave it. Increase in price by this much is debatable. People will the face uplifts from local market anyway.

P.S: You could call me a Honda fanboy, but the fact is IMC gives more bang for the buck compared to Honda

Lets just say, by chance, we do get equivalent or exceeding quality than that of JDM, how many of us would be able to or willing to buy a Corolla or Civic for 80-90 Lacs? Any takers?

I have the option to buy a decent JDM or Imported mid sized or full sized sedan BUT I can't because I can't afford one.
I want to buy a high build quality, feature loaded PKDM car BUT I can't because there are none commensurate with my wallet.
I wish we could stand up as a nation, say no to PKDM build quality/ feature set until the Local Auto Industry wept like babies to the Govt and we finally got what we wanted.
Unfortunately, we are divided on petty issues let alone boycotting all this (ME INCLUDED).

And just to add a footnote that government nearly bags 40 percent of the car price and yet it does not care to protect the interests of consumers, ensure safety standards and quality of the automobiles produced in the country. All governments are guilty of giving these manufacturers a free hand. The result is in front of us so if anyone feels market has no options they should stand up and shout at the government to mend its ways because it is the root cause of the problem.

Lets see here,

I have not seen any sitting Govt of Pakistan invest or enforce any educational program or development project that results in innovation or technical advancements.

E.g. there is no national enforced code for plumbing and electrical in the country, all that is followed is “gora sb wala kaam” and its called a day after that.

As @VCheng said, it takes decades of organic growth to come up to any basic standard,

Btw, HOH is one of the only private enterprise that is actually investing in such education.
