Yes Sir I know many parts are made in Pakistan but how much percentage of those parts really make the total value of the car? I specifically mentioned about engine assembly so that we can make expensive parts like Cylinder head, crankshaft, gear, catalytic etc in Pakistan. With transfer of technology - we can do it. But sadly no one is interested in it.

Seats, body parts, suspension parts, dashboard etc we are already making here after more than 30 years. I hope we can also make expensive engines in Pakistan too.

Totally agreed that Toyota/Honda/Suzuki are offering overpriced pieces of shit here and we are stuck with it because we dont have any other reasonable option at the moment. Engine castings are already being made in Pakistan. They are never sold in aftermarket though, only supplied to OE and rest are destroyed.

According to all bashing here and all threads going back 15 years - everyone in Pakistan who can buy a car has no problem in affording one straight from factory outside Pakistan - afford its duties, tarriffs, shipping etc.

They however cannot afford maintenance and head to the local scrapyard to look for Made in Kabul Afghanistan (Kabuli) parts. - Last I checked Kabul had no manufacturer assembly line or even local manufacturing for even a small plastic clip.
