Kia has the new sportage in the pipe line. That would be their first generation replacement model in Pakistan. They would definitely play aggressive this time.

This time indus is in a bit of trouble leaving their monopoly in the C segment sedan.

Earlier we presumed they had come to an agreement with the Korean assemblers to leave a certain market for them but now competition seems tight.

Since Hyundai is also planning the hybrid SantaFE for now at 10 million Haval H6 looks like the most promising.

Also with Haval looking forward for Jolion Hybrid soon too it will get more dirty.

One good things about the Toyota TNGA platform would be they won't be trouble they can make out several models of the same TNGA format.

Most aren't paying 10 mil from their pockets for a car like this , they are selling their Sportage, Tucson , HS etc and adding 2-3 mil to reach that 10 mil mark for an upgrade.

No certain dates can be given, The market is very bad, Just like KIA looked at the market between a Corolla and Fortuner and tapped it, Once again i see that market opening up now between 10 and 20 million.

I don’t think Sportage is going to win anything as a new model with new assembly plant won’t be cheap.

KARACHI: Indus Motor Company, the maker of Toyota-brand vehicles in Pakistan, is betting on its upcoming hybrid car, the Corolla Cross, to do well at a time when petrol prices have already hit a record high and are tipped to go higher in the country.

“Toyota has made an investment of $100 million to produce HEV vehicles in Pakistan and Toyota Corolla Cross, Pakistan’s first locally manufactured HEV SUV, is to be launched soon,” he highlighted.

It is expected the company would launch the Toyota Corolla Cross by the end of 2023 or early 2024.

It is not the first locally manufactured HEV.

That is Haval H6 HEV..

Imported CBU units may roll out in 2024. Then it will be suspended for very long period of time.

Possible launch of Corolla Cross is 23rd December.

2 Petrol variants [ 1.8L/ 2ZR-FBE , 138HP ]
2 Hybrid variants [ 1.8L Hybrid/ 2ZR-FXE, 121HP ]

Both petrol & Hybrid are FWD. No AWD option.

Expected Price in the range of 10-13 Million and in can fluctuate as $ is not static snd we are not sure what happens from now till December.
