Thatâs not how it works.
The non hybrid will also sell for around similar price for what you bought or even higher considering pkr devaluation.
Example You bought hybrid Cross at 11 million.
I bought non hybrid Cross at 8 million.
Now I got the same car for 3 million less and donât have to stretch my budget to 11 million. If I have more money I can invest the remaining in something else.
Now with hybrid, in how much time and kilometers you will have to drive, to save those 3 million rupees to justify the higher price?
Probably in around 10-15 years you might be able to save 3 million in fuel cost.
Now after those 15 years you will also have much more issues to deal with like the battery life. It might be dying. Or low on health. Add the battery replacement cost.
Overall, people go for hybrid as they think it saves fuel cost, but it doesnât really if you can buy a non hybrid same car for much cheaper price. You will have to drive your hybrid for 10+ years and a lot of kilometers per year to make up the reduced fuel cost.
