So checked out the cross as I really wanted to book one to replace grande. Its a good option with decent features and for the most localized CKD in Pakistan the build quality is quite good.
The front looks aggressive but the rear is a bit bland. The interior is fine and rear is not as cramped as everyone is saying here. Yes its not as spacious as civic, corolla, sportage, tucson but will just do the job.
Now the actual problem with cross is its price, competition and road presence actually all three are interlinked. When spending 1 crore, one can easily get brand new sportage fwd in 85 lac on road and keep the rest for fuel savings or Haval H6 with much superior road presence and looks moreover in case of sedans one can used sonata 2.5 in mint condition or new RS (I am not bringing HRV in this because its the most stupidest/overpriced vehicle with no features also same goes for civic oriel)
Conclusion well we went to see cross with family on grande for comparison sake and even kids said corolla cross is a downgrade. Its not a bad car by any means and it targets a consumer who loves Toyota brand, prefers hybrid drive, needs a tension free vehicle and also requires small size crossover needed to commute in congested areas with good ground clearance but for others its a little bit overpriced just wish they launched top of the line in 9 million. Big three have to realize that their glory days are over and now competition wont let them survive easily biggest example is lack luster sales of new civic and HRV.
For now I have started the hunt for used Sonata 2.5. Its the best bang for the buck.
