Salam Gents. I hope you are doing good. My issues related to rumbling of engine is not resolved. I have checked the injectors, coils, plugs through physical inspection and all seems fine. My mechanic increased the rpms a bit as it was 600 to 700 without lights and around 900 with lights. The rpm did increased but the rumbling between 1k to 2k rpm was still there,
As an DIY, i reset the ECU again last night and the rpm increased alot. Im going to change the plugs today just to check if the rumbling issue resolve or not.
Does this rumbling associated with the Clutch pressure plates. Sir xulfikar said it is not but all this started after i changed the plates. When the engine rumble, i can feel the vibration in the car also. Thinking to get the mounting changed aswell but main concern is the rumbling between 1k to 2k rpm and rough idling.

Maybe when the transmission was removed it is not mounted properly or the foundation needs adjustment.

I have also replaced 3 out of 4 foundations. But their is still vibration on D at stand still.

I will get another one changed aswell. And see if it resolves the issue. My mechanic kept insisting to replace them one by one. Each time the issue got better but didn't come to zero.

Yes im going to get this way now. I have engaged another mechanic, he shall change the mounting and will check the clutch pressure plates too, if they are fixed/placed in a right way.
This vibration thing is killing me. By chance, I sat in a 2010 cultus and took her to a drive and it was smooth with no vibration. My car on the other hand is vibrating.
I dont get one thing why Hondas are so smooth and silent. In my family, I have 2008 city with a mileage close to 300k. One mounting was changed like an year back and it is still silent.

if u find a 2010 1.0 liter cultus smoother, then i feel for you and understand that u r facing some serious tremors with ur rolla, please do get it checked, specially that oil filled mount installed on the timing side of engine, it the engine is resting on mount then no doubt u must be getting serious vibrations.

this model is as smooth as honda, i happen to have a specimen although AT but i dont get any vibrations etc on idle AC turns on and off only with a click sound and nothing else.

Sir my mechanic did pointed that oil filled mount to be changed but I gave him a shut up call thinking he is just trying to grab up more money. Can you pleas guide me how to check if that mount is fine or not?
Yes the vibration is there and it is giving me much of a trouble. I haven't abused my car not even once.
Always driven in city and hardly taken outstations, if it is then its on motorways only.
The rpm does drops to like 600 and then shoot up to 800-900 when I come to idle which causes some engine rumbling.

Also I feel vibration on the startup, it was not there before this work. I have also asked my mechanic to tighten the bolts of mounts just in case if they are loose and causing vibration.

there is a gap in that mounting which will provide damping, but if that gap is no more due to oil leakage then engine is almost in direct contact with body shell.

btw, ECU is responsible to maintain rpm on an efu car, never try to fiddle with throttle stop screw caz its hard to get it back on the factory position and messes up reading from other parameters.

if engine is not maintaining the RPM then try servicing the IACV which is responsible to maintain the RPM.

i think u need to visit someone who can identify the root cause of issue with car which is still unknown.

Right sir. Unfortunately my mechanic has fiddle that throttle stop screw a bit. From that particular day, im trying to find the stock setting of that screw. Actually mechanic didnot try to resolve the issue, they just try to bypass and in my case he did that by raising the rpm a bit. These 13 years i never let anyone done that but that stupid mechanic did that.
The engine is mainting the rpm that is everytime when i come to stand stop position it is resting on same rpm. The needle is not going up and down.
Where actually IACV sensor is located. Is it the one located on the filter box? I think that is MAF sensor. I never got it cleaned aswell coz i never faced any issue prior this work done.

To bring that screw to its stock position, im thinking to find a corolla whose screw is not tighten or loosed, measure the legth of it with a rurlar and then adjust mine. Its just a stupid idea to bring it back to stock. Lets see what expert suggest me regarding this one

Aoa Folks,

I'm driving 2007 Altis. Total reading on ODO is 162k. I'm using Liquimoly Molygen 5w-30 and below is the oil state after 1000 kms. Can any expert confirm if its normal or car is consuming more oil than usual?

Secondly, can someone comment on the picture below. I have driven many cars at high speed and i have usually found them kissing 3100 rpm at 120km/h. However my car (Altis 2007) is at 4000 rpm at 120. Is this normal with this model or do i need to get it checked? Thanks

Firstly your oil consumption is negligible compared to the allowable limit of 1L/1000km, secondly if your car has Automatic transmission then its higher but for manual gear its Normal

Im also facing another and that is at times without headlights on, my car rpm drops really low to 500 and car keeps on vibrating. Please guide how to rectify this issue. Where is IAVC sensor located

The iacv is the green coloured 3 wire unit on the throttle housing itself, clean it and lubricate the rotating vve with automatic transmission fluid and let it soak. Reassemble.

Your vibration is probably a dead transmission load mount. Check it, its under the airbox.

Infact check all mounts.

Alright sir. I think my mechanic did cleaned that rotating vve with petrol while it was mounted on throttle body. Ill ask him to open it up, clean properly and then lubricate.
Yes im going to chnage one of the mounting today and will check others aswell.

The mounts are to be tightened in sequence only, first do the load mounts then the torque mounts.

Dont forget the threadlock.
