been there done that - it doesnt work. Firstly that screwtype wormdrive clamp applies very low force to the hose, secondly the hose has a finite life and wears out and actually starts sucking air through its walls and this will cause a noisy pump (you wont be able to see the foam in a toyota oil reservoir due to the way its built)
to test for minor leaks, try to squeeze the hose with something while the system is running, you will notice that the pump starts to groan - do this for 2 seconds only, this will show you a seepage on the return side of the circuit, all the way from the rack to this hose, Its a multipiece assembly.
