Toyota corolls 2.0D 2c engine overheated

This is a generic part, take sample with you and get a new thermostat. I believe this is the same part as used in Toyota E, A and NZ engines. Also, this is a serviceable item, you cannot rely on a used thermostat. This is a recipe for a disaster my friend. It has completed it's life span already. Same goes for radiators and other serviceable items in an engine.

Dont know about mechanic but i myself insisted and installed thermostat valve…btw i can do it on my own too, very simple in 2c engine…if i find new one genuine, will install it myself
I will now check average after thermostat and auto fan as it was near 16, 15.5 and 16 on long which shouldnt be..i think it must be above 18 as my previous ride gave me 20 21

I am very curious about pump and nozzle service as never dud it before and neither we have a reputed lab with complete equipment, and as you everytime tell us about dial guage…no one has here …do you know any workshop here in pakistan who have all equipments like dial guage etc…anywhere near peshawar…isb, rwp and lahore

And btw for my info can you pls elaborate which engine runs hotter? Diesel or petrol?
I think petrol as diesel takes time to reach optimal temp

Ignition pump woes hdj81 80 series TLC

AOA I’ve recently bought a toyota Land Cruiser 80 series model 1993 with a 1hd-t diesel engine I’ve recently rebuilt the engine with all new oems parts but the pump is the only thing left out since I’m based in khi and know a few diesel pump repair guys and have been to saleem and etc in garden all have tried but failed to fix the pump and bring it to its proper potential now I’m afraid if i let every road side pump mechanic mess with the pump it’ll probably get worse then better so my query is…

Sir any reputed diesel lab you know here ? Which have all the tools like dial guage etc

Thal engineering (denso) have the tooling, but are not low cost if the pump and nozzles have been through tasalee baksh ustaad.

They are reasonable cost if the pump and nozzles are original.

You will have to talk to them about install etc, they dont work on all cars but work on all injection systems.

Diesel engines run cooler, they only generate high heat under load, or if some jackwagon has messed with the fuelling.

Well i will note it down, right now i am not facing any pump related issue, will keep on checking its mileage etc, if ok then will keep it running…
Other than that it has leakage from that O ring i guess of oil pump near oil filter’s location
And its 2nd 2.0d i own, previous one has also leakage from exact same location which was treated then by changing that O ring of oil pump
And strange this one has also leakage from exact same location

I also noticed that these 2c engines get leakage from timing seals and o ring..dont know if it happened with me only or some generic manufacturer fault in these 2c engine

The timing seals, oil pump sealing, waterpump and valve seals along with clearance (tappet) coolant flush are all supposed to be changed with timing belt job at 100000 kms intervals meaning that oring is replaced regularly.

During this job, the timing is rechecked with correct tooling.

Once done with all above the car is ready for next 100,000 kms reliable service with just oil and filter changes in between.

Nice info… i changed timing belt and 2 seals of timing, the 3rd one wasnt leaking according to mechanic, but i didnt change water pump…so shall i change it now??

Sir that leakage issue is gone now, changed oring of oil pump…
I am facing 2 issues in this car
1. My car gives black smoke in 3rd gear mainly and when going uphill
2. On motorway my speed is limited to 120km/h, it can touch 140 but with effort, i kept a diesel 2c engine corolla previously that could easily touch 160 with no effort, but that engine was very noisy, and fuel efficient 16 in city and upto 20, 22 on long
And this one is rich on fuel it gives 15 on long and 13, 14 on short
3. I have to give it one glow even on warm engine to start it, in morning it easily starts with one glow half sulf even in hilly area cold weathers, but it also needs one glow at each startup while hot, (Fan is auto)

It was 124,000 kms driven when bought by me a couple of week ago now its 127,000 kms (timing belt changed, tappet cover seal, oil pump o ring, coolant added, thermostat installed, fan is direct now but i will make it auto, delo gold 15w-40 oil in use with genuine filter)
Its pump hasn’t been tuned yet since bought

What should i do for this black smoke issue and high fuel consumption plus speed on motorway (clutch plate and pressure plate shall be changed?)
