The amount varies a little bit as per the remaining number of months and token tax for those months. A car registration done in May/June will be minimum and the same car registration done in July/August will be maximum. So the amount varies as per remaining months till June token tax because that is collected with first registration

Lucky you have bought it... After the price hike the petrol 4x4 Fortuners will pitched above 61 lacs to 62 lacs

Those not interested in diesel are finding 4x4 petrol variant better option than the useless 4x2 petrol.

A question. What would be a better deal? diesel fortuner (with a ON cost for me around 70 lacs, includes withholding/registration/insurance) or a 2012 Prado 2.7 (which will have similar ON cost)? what do you guys think? are there any other alternatives at this price range for a 4x4 in Pakistan?

Diesel fortuner, mind you that the Prado will be a basic spec with minimum to no options plus it will be underpowered compared to the diesel fortuner and will cost 1 to 1.5 mil more with at least 50k on the odometer. You'll instantly get a feeling that you're sitting in an older vehicle once you enter the cabin.

what about the built quality for both 4x4s? is the fortuner as good as the prado?

what other 4x4 are in the price range?

Fortuner is really well put together probably the best locally assembled vehicle in terms of build quality, but Prado has an overall better build quality since its made in Japan. That being said you won't hear any rattling sound or any squeak in the fortuner. There is no other 4*4 avaliable in Pakistan for this price point

The only real benefit in buying 5 years old basic TX Prado is comfortable seats and soft suspension.

If one can't afford Prado TZ, then Fortuner is an overall a better deal as its brand new with warranty and cheaper spare parts. I would not have said this before as I am a big Prado fan. But since IMC offered VSC, TRC and push start, now its a fair deal when compared with old TX Prado as its too basic and doesn't even have powered seats.

That said, uncomfortable seats in Fortuner is still a big turnoff for me. You expect comfort in SUV which is lacking big time in Fortuner.
