4x4 is basic integral part of a SUV without which its incomplete. Buying a Fortuner without 4x4 can be practical but not ethical... Its just like inducting a well built soldier who is scared of para trooping & swimming into the SSG.
If you aren't a hardcore 4x4 enthusiast, you can always go for Suzuki Vitara 2017/2018 model very comfortable with panoramic roof for excellent viewing on northern area road trips and petrol which is easy to maintain and 4x4 capable whenever you need just in case to pull you out in troubles and at half the price to own with a better fuel average.
Unless you need road presence, status or you have a 6 to 7 passengers family then its all right to spend more for Fortuner.
I would recommend a year used Petrol 4x4 Fortuner which is a real deal... Push start are cosmetics over a 4x2.
Else spend a couple more and go for Sigma 4 diesel variant or for big family need import Toyota velfire or Alphard 2013 model almost same range and 10 times more comfortable even from v8 land cruiser.
If you have small family and keen in travelling... Vitara is worth the consideration at 30 to max 32lacs for GLX sunroof model.. Reliable ,capable & affordable.
