You will get 6-7 years old basic Prado in 6 million. There is no question that even basic Prado will be better than Fortuner in ride quality, comfort, suspension, features, etc. The main question is are you willing to buy an older better SUV than a new one? Also, although Prados don't usually require much maintenance, but problems can arise in older cars.
Personally, I bought 7 years old TZ G in 2010, sold in 2015. In those 5 years, the only out of ordinary maintenance it required was; air balloons replacement for air suspension Rs. 30,000, windshield washer pump replacement Rs. 8,500, and starter motor service as it got flooded. I used that Prado very roughly, especially on 50 km jeep track from Skardu to Deosai Plains. Brand new tire cracked, but Prado didn't give up.
I crossed multiple mud patches in the way. There was a Hilux Vego totally stuck in mud and a tractor pulling it out. I crossed the same mud patch with ease, traction control and stability control saved my day. Fortuner doesn't come with these features.
There are serious comfort issues with Fortuner seats. You should go to Toyota showroom that has Fortuner on display and sit on 2nd row seats, then go to a dealer that has Prado on display and sit on 2nd row seats. You will never buy Fortuner after doing that.
