I'm pretty sure Prado also comes with 7 seats .. secondly the main shortcoming of fortuner is part time 4x4 vs full time 4x4 in Prado ...it basically refers to absence of center diferential in fortuner which limits use of 4x4 to only off road where wheel slippage is available. Prado can be used 4x4 on road as it has center diff

Part time 4x4 is quite rare in these times, not sure about the reason Toyota opted for it....the Pajero has maximum settings which include 4x2 mode along with center and rear lockable diffs..

Prado doesnt offer 4x2 which is also quite difficult to understand why Mitsubishi can offer such flexible 4x4 system for price of fortuner but Toyota doesnt have it in its entire lineup

I am going to assume you've never been in a Prado as the things you said are untrue.

1. Prado comes with 7 seats and rear seats can be folded to the floor.

2. Prado comes with real coolbox with its own internal fan and button to turn it on and off. It chills drinks in 30 minutes, Its a proper refregerator.

3. Fortuner coolbox is a fake. Its just a box with AC vents. So if you have heater on, you will be heating your drinks. If your AC is off, it just becomes regular glovebox. You can do this with a Suzuki mehran, just put a plastic box over AC vent and it becomes a coolbox by Fortuner standards.

4. You forgot to mention Prado offers comfort, luxury and tons of extra features. Its a proper luxury SUV with modern features. While Fortuner is a basic SUV with rock hard seats, poor drive comfort, no modern features, no luxury. Its similar to driving a hilux truck.

Dear Bros,

I got my Fortuner last year in Ramadan and thoroughly enjoying my ride. The only challenge I have is how to keep it clean everyday. I live in Lahore where one short trip in the city can make the car fairly dusty. I have a driver who cleans it everyday and washes it once a week or whenever it gets mud on it.

Daily cleaning left the car with ugly swirl marks on the attitude black surface so had to get it buffed with a compound / polish finish although it was the last thing I would have ever done on a car not even a year old.

I have bought micro fiber towels and seen videos on youtube showing many chemicals / sprays which however are not available here. Any tips from seasoned car lovers will be much appreciated.

I learned the hard way NEVER CLEAN A CAR. Either wash it properly or let it stay dirty

What arkhitekt said. Do not dry clean your car, it damages the paint. I only dry clean after it has been freshly waxed, otherwise a big no. I see drivers rubbing dry cloth all the time whenever they park.
Any surface will degrade after excessive rubbing, even if its polished titanium.

i have a Karcher K2, pressure washer coupled with a good shampoo with a bottle, it fairly does the job for me. I wash it myself atleast once a week.

having said that, attitude black is still a very difficult color to maintain, i agree!

I think only the top spec variants (vx and Kakadu) come with a cool box , which are 20k and 30k AUD more than the top spec fortuner respectively as opposed to the 54k AUD base prado you mentioned earlier.

Highly doubt that IMC will discontinue the petrol variant as both the diesel and petrol variants cater to different types of customers, generally speaking petrol engines are more refined compared to their diesel counterparts.

In a great fix.... Still no decision made of what will launch first the V6 petrol or the 2.8 diesel... Many are in the favor of 4000cc V6 Petrol due its reliability & compatibility and suggesting to see 2.8 Diesel in ReVo first...lets see as we all end up with nothing or delayed due to Sethocracy mindset-the Veto Power.

4.0 V6 would be an outright star and winner.
Only UAE and South Africa have these Fortuner variants (as far as I could gather), hence seems a bit difficult to see it getting launched here.

Today i visited toyota airport motors lahore, lady sales representative was saying that there is no confirmation from Indus motors but they are planning to introduce 3.0D and 2.7 petrol with minor modifications including push start button without sunroof. She was also saying that Revo diesel 2.8 will also be introduced. Bookings are closed
