Let me conclude this discussion about the Prado Vs Fortuner.
Land Cruiser Prado is built in two plants for worldwide consumption, first is Tahara plant in Aichi prefecture, Japan and second is Sichuan, China which is for Chinese domestic market (while third one in Eastern Russia was closed in 2013), now this Japanese plant is not some run of mill manufacturing facility its quite famous for its quality and highly trained work force, just take a look on links below,

All the JDM and export Land Cruisers and Prado's are built over there, so one can imagine that products from this plant which has made Germans take a pause and rethink their strategy must be some place, now one thing is for sure Prado made in Lexus plant in Japan has the highest of pedigree and unmatched quality.
Toyota Fortuner is based on Hilux underpinnings and primarily made in Thailand, for both the local consumption in that country and export markets like Australia, now take an example of Australia, where they had Toyota assembly line which they have closed, now all of the Toyota products are imported as CBU under a uniform policy, when all is said and done about the Prado, Toyota Australia prices Land Cruiser Prado and Fortuner 10-12% apart, all the built quality inherent from highly trained/skilled work force, the latest Japanese drive train technology, KDSS suspension is worth just 10% to 15% more than Fortuner made in Thailand, that's all there is, difference of 10%-15%.
Kindly check the following link for Australian comparison for both these products,

Lets come to situation in Pakistan, where our Govt on the name of creation/protection of local jobs have slapped huge amount of duties on imported CBU units, which has made the situation where products have skewed valuation for CBU vehicles, for the retail price of every Toyota Camry, you have to pay price of three Camrys to Govt of Pakistan for the privilege of owning a single vehicle, at time Indus motors had taken notice of our voracious appetite for used 4X4 and sensed an opportunity (earlier they used to sell South African made CBU Hilux) and built new assembly line for Hlux where they started producing both the Hilux and Fortuner in their plant in Karachi around 7 years ago, last generation of both of these vehicles were not too impressive, so fared just as well, but this time around International effort in designing and testing Hilux chassis in Australia, has made the product quite a step forward.
Gentlemen (along-with few ladies
) lets come to issue at hand, its quite obvious we have two parties over here, one is Toyota marketing people pitching their product against a very targeted community (Importers and users of used Prado) vs traditional Pakwheeler, who are reasonably knowledgeable and tech-savvy enough to see through this charade (who think they have caught Indus red handed).
A piece of advice to marketers, guys you have done your job, you have let us know your angle, your point of view has become known, any further effort in this direction is creating nothing but friction/resistance, so lay low, don't become just a shill but provide useful information that general lay man doesn't have access to. Pakwheel community will be of better use by helping and supporting them rather than parroting same thing repeatedly & returning bickering volleys.
While for average Pakwheeler, get off your horses, you know this product even with perceived low quality when compared to second hand imported Toyota Fortuner from Thailand is at-least 2 to 3 Millions cheaper with warranty and after sales support, appreciate this fact, users like @alphab@kala_shah_kaku Sirs, calm down, you yourself have admitted that you have become ' a bit aggressive', dears you have become a bit too aggressive for all of our sake (don't let anonymity of online presence erode your decency), these guys are doing their job, we should allow them bit of breathing space.
At the end of day we have come to know about the presence of Toyota marketers on Pakwheels, we should appreciate the significance of this fact, we as online community have made these Multi Billion Rupees conglomerate take notice & take us seriously enough that they have sent their representatives over here, after knowing this fact what do we do?
All we do is biker with them, call them names and act like juveniles, we should have a working relationships with these guys rather than resentment and hostility, because at the time of need, we seek manufacturer contacts so badly.
