Toyota Fortuner to be assemble in Pakistan

I guess they will show case Fortuner in next 2 weeks in Lahore or may be the launching ceremony is in Karachi only. Anyway make sure to take pictures and post here.
I have an idea, everyone going to the launch should tell IMC that the price is high so they might reduce it

Fortuner in UAE is even cheaper. It's around 3.7 million. If IMC prices it around 4-4.2 million then they have a chance to sell a lot more units. Over 5 million it's only going to be a rich's toy.

got the msg from Toyota, they r going to display at the PC hotel to selected customer on saturday Feb 16th, price is 4.8m....i hope it wont be disappointment btw its 2700cc petrol

as for vigo, my cousin own local vigo champ auto n i owned thai vigo petrol 2700cc.....we ve driven each other vigo.....i agree bout the underpowered of local vigo but theres enough torque n it goes smoothly in traffic....best for local vigo champ its worth it in 3.4m even cheaper than my thai vigo 2008 model

so u prefer the thai 2.7 over the champ?? bro how was the comfort level of champ compared to thai vigo and in what price did u get yours??

Two unconfirmed news 1.) Lahore launch would be on 23-24 Feb in PC or Royal Palm. 2.) The price is over 5.5 million and close to 6 million.
Spoke to 2 Toyota dealers but they don't seem to have a clue about price. IMC hasn't finalized it yet so I guess we have a chance to influence them to set lower price if at launch we all say that in other countries it's price is between 3.7m to 4.2m. Obviously they will sell a lot less vehicles if it's over 5 million.

Yes, one dealer mentioned advance payment to me as well. However he said, "May be IMC will ask for 1 million advance and deliver after mid of March" but he didn't push it because I think he wasn't also sure. You are right, without seeing it no one should book it or pay advance. Looks like IMC is playing games and they want to price it higher but trying to test the market response. They know they will have monopoly in SUV segment by launching Fortuner so trying to cash it as much as they can. That's why it's important that everyone should give reference of prices in India, UAE and Thailand and ask them to price it near 4 million.
I just double checked Toyota UAE site and saw 2.7L Fortuner listed around 3.4 million Pakistani rupees. 4.0L model is around 3.8 million. Whereas, Thai and Indian models are around 4 to 4.2 million Pak rupee. Ours shouldn't go over 4.5 million.

Altis price in thailand is 8 lac bhat, fortuner is 12 lac, price of altis in pakistan is 2 million, so fortuner should not be more than 3million,

@^ Things have changed, Thai baht isnt 1.5 Pak rupee any more, Its around 3.5 rupees per baht.

1264,000 baht is around 44,24,000 Pak rupees. Duties etc bla bla expected price is somewhere @ 5.5 to 6.0 million.

The rumours could be wrong, because they might be planing on spreading a high price rumour and price it below so they can get sales.

they are asking advances without telling the price wat the hell is wrong with these ppl? ppl do not book a fortuner without seeing it ....this might be their pricing strategy..... if they get lots of bookings they would price it at 5.5 million.... and deliver god knows wat piece of crap....expect anything from IMC

Yes, I read about Fortuner roll overs too and it's mentioned in a few youtube videos also. I had always wondered that Fortuner is quite high compared to it's width. If you go by specifications it's as wide as a Civic or Corolla but much higher and obviously chances of roll over increase in such a design. That's why Prado was designed differently. Pre 2002 Prado models also had roll over issues. Arabs don't even like new Prado because it still rolls over in sand bashing.

My budget is 4 to 5 millions Pak Ruppes. Kindly provide me with suggestion what should i purchase. either Fortuner 2013 Pakistan assembled or 2005-2007 model Prado version TX, Tx limited, Tz.

I would go with the Prado. I think 5.5-6 million (that's the estimated price for the fortuner) for a locally assembled car is ridiculous.
