Toyota Fortuner to be assemble in Pakistan

I have also been waiting for Fortuner but it looks like the price is going to be very high. It's not worth buying Fortuner over 4.5 million. It's a waste of money. Prado is a much better option.

I am having my doubts after reading all this. I did see all this a few months ago and did some research. Toyota haven't introduced Fortuner in Europe or the US just because of this reason. In the US Fortuner's equivalent is 4Runner which is built on a different Chasis/Platform. It's a newer and modified version of Hilux platform. Earlier Hilux/Surf/4Runner used to have same platform but they discontinued it in the US but kept using it for Asia because they couldn't get by the US laws.
I don't want to put my family in car that could roll over and which is to be driven most of the time on urban roads and motor ways.

not saying to get thai vigo if u can spend morethan local vigo then get imported, otherwise 3.4m is really gud price for the local vigo....comfort level is almost same however most ppl say the leaf spring of imported vigo r better than local one

One of the most important thing, does it have immobilizer? That's one serious thing to consider before buying because you don't want to spend close to 5 million on something that can be stolen in 30 seconds. I know for sure that I am not buying Fortuner if it doesn't have immobilizer. No tracker can stop theft.
Of course anti roll technology is 2nd in my list after immobilizer.
You are also right about consumption. All time 4wd will have a lot more consumption. That's also something to consider.

Guys, I've done some research on price of India, their 4x4 Manual is INR 2,258,000 + they charge 96k for A/T (see FE vs FC in Toyota - Price List) so 4x4 Auto = INR 2,355,000. Minus 17% VAT in India it becomes = INR 2,012,000. Now INR = 1.8 PKR so it becomes 3,600,000. Add CKD duty 32.5% it becomes = 4,800,000. Add GST 16% it becomes = 5,568,000.

Now Minus the Cruise control, Auto AC and headlight washer like 200,000? so it comes around 5.3m.

How was the analysis ?

Fortuner is the best if its come with 300cc engine and with beige interior like Thai Fortuner.

Fortuner might be better because it's new but it's expensive too and not worth that much money. You get a bigger n better Prado with a lot more options. The ride and comfort level of Prado is also way better.

You need to compare Corolla/Civic prices in India as well. I don't think there's a huge difference. I think Pakistani prices are 2-3 lacs more so should be the case of Fortuner.
If Fortuner is over 4.5 million then I am out. You get a better ride and comfort level in Prado with a lot more options. I'd rather spend 6 million on 2006-2007 Prado. When you are spending this much money you have to consider all the options carefully. It's not a decision you make between Corolla or Civic. I will also probably go for BMW or Merc. UK imported vehicles are quite nice, better than JD imports in general.

GLI AT grade in thai is 819,000 THB = minus 17% thai vat = 700,000 x 3.29 forex = 2,303,000 + 32.5% CKD duty = 3,051,000 x 16% GST = 3,539,000. What the f***?

3,539,000 minus 2,303,000 = 1,236,000 which is 35% of total price! Govt is ripping us off big time!!! that's why Honda is in loss for many years and Suzuki couldn't introduce any new models besides Swift that too at high price.

a new basic bimmer is better than higher specced model in used cndition.... nai cheez ki apni bat hoti ha and uspe koi msla b nai aega if you buy it new....dewan motors ki aftersales support zada achi nhi ha.... just my opinion....
merc c180 is nice too.. but i noticed legroom bht km ha backseats ma....

Yes, BMW is BMW, but the entry level 316i is 1.6L and Manual Transmission. I visite dewan's small parking lot (lolz, display area) near Nursery shahra faisal around 2-3 months back.
