subaru (Fuji Heavy industries) spare nothing when it comes to production engines, even the little 3 cyl in the Justy or J10 was incredible, it was actually a suzuki G10 (khyber engine) BUT
subaru added a balancer shaft to it to smooth it internally
installed full forged pistons and rods
hollowed the camshaft
upped the oil pump volume
it resulted in an engine that could take beatings from Mike Tyson every day all day long. The issue of "FAIL" in Pakistan was because mechanics were baffled on how to repair the damn thing as its timing marks were off the hook completely bonkers, similarly people could not afford to buy engine coolant and used sewage water to cool it down which resulted in corroded oil/water pump assembly which then led to crank failure and engine seizure.
