Ok thanks. I have been having a blast driving this beast. Got ppf done and installed Michelin ltx trail tires. I really don't want to get out of the car now haha. And to top it all, its giving me 8.7ltr/100km mileage within the city. Very impressive for the vehicle of this size.

Yup a common problem for hilux owners. I tried to find a water proof cover, trunk lid and other solutions for it but unfortunately all you can do is soak it up or just park on an incline. In my view Toyota should have given drain holes where the trunk is deeper i.e. towards the rear of the cabin.
Btw the only water proof solution for trunk i found was the one piece fiberglass lids that look a bit too big for my taste.

Yes now it is a Toyota part with Carplay and Android auto. It has trlemetric functions available from the ECU. There is a thick user manual with it to explain all the functions.

It has better camera resolution as well.

Yes, I saw the some of the information coming from ECU, pretty nice to have more info besides the cluster. I'll check out the manual too. And the camera resolution is impressive, specially in low lighting, it does the job pretty well.

Is there any break in period for a new rocco? I want to test the performance figures. Just wanted to make sure before I start flooring.

i have 1KD REvo n i would suggest to stick with 10W40, my REvo is nearing 100k km and i m still on 10w40 since day one. Never reduced the oil and plus my revo is unichip tuned.

When should one change the transmission oil??
Revo is 60k km driven. Oil Probably never changed and no user manual in the car.

Noted @salik990 bhai. I also think it's better to not change the grade. why take unnecessary chances or experiment on a perfect sunning machine

I did at 55k km, however Toyota manual says should be change at 40k km.

Yes exactly, why change if your car is in perfect condition.

So should I change it now as it's not advised to change at such a late interval by a mechanic for some reason

What's the mileage now, if your gear changing is not showing any sign of issue then its upto you. Some mechanic says gearbox oil are lifetime and some says to change according to owner manual/company recommend. I did changed coz my Revo Hilux 3.0 was delaying in gearshift, after new gear oil it's slightly smoother now.

Mileage is 60k kms
And no problem in gear shifting

I have a Fortuner Sigma FL and Ive been noticing delays in gear shifts although I'm not really sure. The car is 18k driven only. Sorry for my ignorance but did you check the delay in shifting by looking at the RPM? Im confused because I've heard these new 1GD engines do hold gears longer..

yes even i noticed in my fortuner legender driven 12k km, gearshift sometime get stuck at 2nd gear if i do full WOT (fully accelerate). I took my car to Toyota Central and found out every FL fortuner and legender have this gearshift issue, even in Thailand as well. I might get unichip on my legender soon and sort out this issue, as for now you got to lift the accelerator slightly before the gearshift to 3rd gear.

The flooring problem is the same with my REVO V (same engine/transmission), so yeah, it doesn't like a floor it to the metal approval and gear is stuck not shifting anymore.
