Hi i have passo 2008 model and its has issue with its right side mirror, when turned on car ignition, its rigth side mirror start moving toward front side and it stopped moving once it arrived on other side. And i have to manually set mirror in the centre before drive through.

can any one tell me, can it be fixed. or where precisely is the problem.

Alright everyone so here's the update of my Toyota Passo 2012

I have observed that the car has low pick bad acceleration on AC. Even on the slightest of inclined roads, it takes around one and a half week to pick up and gain acceleration. -__-

Now, I understand that an automatic CVT transmission is not supposed to have that competitive of a pick or acceleration, but what I went through today was plain frustrating. I don't think it's supposed to be this low either. It's like I'll put my feet on the paddle even if I push it all the way down, all it does is make a loooot of engine noise but no acceleration a lot. It takes a lot of time to go above 20 25 to be honest. Although when I turn the AC off, it gets significantly better.

So opinions anyone? Because this is getting really frustrating now. Its not even a 660cc mini car. It is not supposed to have that low of a pick and acceleration. Suggestions please?

Get its catalytic convertor checked, clogged cat causes this. If thats okay then there could be problem with the cvt.

Salam, I bought 2006 passo last month for 7.5 lac, all original condition, it is good car but fuel average is about 7-8 km using light foot, pick is also good, I had its throttle body, manifold serviced, spark plugs good but no change in mileage, changed it's oil to Zic A+ 5-20..scanned from reputable professional and no issue in sensor,
Following Problems I noticed
Air bag light on dashboard..engine vibrates too much on idle and on gear with breaks... got minimized after foundation changed buy still there,
Please suggest if there is any Chance of improvement in mileage or I shall sale it? It is hard to find good car in this range on original engine and condition,

does your car consume oil too?

If yes, move to a thicker oil. and how much mileage it has done on odo?

After 100k or around it, this car starts consuming oil.

Besides, have you got plugs serviced or changed? if serviced, get them changed.

Also, does your car jerk when moving? or doesn't accelerate good enough? Silencer has carbon in it?

If yes, get the CAT Converter cleaned. Do not ever get it removed or it will cause O2 sensor faults.

Either get it cleaned or get a kabuli one.

anybody knows where in Karachi I can get my cat converter cleaned and the sensor as well? need a good and reliable mechanic. not some rip off please. My car highly accelerates even without AC and makes noise. to me, it looks like a clogged cat.

I am going for a complete tune up today or tomorrow

Shall I go for SPECIAL TEC AA 5W-30 Liqui Moly ? 2007 boon, done 1k on odo. Used Zic 10w-40 as recommended by mechanic on last tune up... Having fuel consumption issue. Going for cat converter cleaning, engine oil changed, oil filter and air filter replaced, spark plugs replaced. Car isn't accelerating good enough with and without AC and making noise whilst driving or taking the rpm to 2500/+ on idle. Suggest Please. Thanks.

What other things can I go for? My car hardly gives 8-9km/l within Karachi city and on highway not more than 10.5

10w-40 consumes a lot and before that 20w-50 zic was being used. but didn't consume.

it is not advisable to go from 20W-50 to 5-30. if you really want to than check any Liqui Moly product with Leichtlauf although I am not sure if added silver will be able to help reduce the oil consumption issue.

better to look for a 10w-40 product. I am no expert but the logic is that once the engine starts to consume oil (the ring piston gap is large enough) you are not advisable to decrease the min oil grade else the problem will only escalate.

as I already explained to a gentleman before, overall pick depends on multiple factors some of which in the order of importance can be as follows:
1. Engine condition
2. Gear Oil condition
3. Tyre Size
4. Air Filter
5. Spark Plug condition
6. Exhaust condition (CAT converter/ O2 sensor should be clean)
7. Throttle body (MAF sensor)

to isolate the exact problem you may have to go thru some of these. to start with you can just replace air and oil filter, than if still needed go for CAT wash and Spark plug replacement. after that all other solutions start to get expensive.

btw all those who are having low pickup issue only with AC please have your condenser un-chocked and you will be happy as a clown. I was facing a decrease in avg fuel consumption issue with my 2007 (it came down from 16.5 to 14.5 in last one month) also the car felt very heavy with ac on. unfortunately the condenser in Passo doesnt have a provision for replacement of filter so you need it take the condenser off and get it wash internally with ac cleaning liquid. a lot of black and brown stuff will come out but after that ac cooling will be a lot better and car will feel much lighter with ac on. I only had it done on the weekend so it may take a few weeks for the avg consumption to go back upto the mark.

Thanks for the reply, i have have checked and it is not consuming any oil. The plugs were new when i bought i will try to change them, car does not jerk. The manifold was serviced properly and pick is ok.
The mechanic told me the that CAT is already removed and there are no sensor faults. I will try these your suggestions and update soon.

I have changed the O2 sensor with a kabli one cost me 2500 and the guy did a minor hole in CAT grill with a hot iron rod. It has improved the pick and average from 6.5 to 8 KM driving in residential area

freaking shit... from 6.5 to 8? thats too low still.. i was getting 8-9 earlier.. got plugs changed, oil, oil filter and air filter changed. my cat was clogged, bought a kabuli one... it is giving 10 now... without hioctane. i will try with hiocate and test 3-4 days.... i just tested today and was stuck in traffic for nearly 30 mins.

I've switched back to 20w-50 as advised by mechanic and spare parts wala since my car has done 100k already. 10w-40 is thinner, I had it earlier and oil was being consumed.
