My car has clocked 130,000 Km and I am still using the LM 5W30 with a drain interval of 7000 ~ 8000 Km. not a single drop of oil has reduced so far

I have passo 2009. It's mileage is 92000. Recently I have observed that it's oil consumption has increased 1ltr/ 1500 KM. My mechanic suggest to get it's piston reworked. (Piston bore needs some work to be done). I am thinking of getting it's engine block changed.
I have recently shifted from Zic A+ To liqui Moly 10w40 MoS2.
Secondly it's fuel consumption is also high.
9-10 KM/ltr with AC in city and on highway it gives 14-15 KM/ltr.
Suggestion required on both the issues.

I'm using 10w 40 liqui moly in my passo 2014 odo 65k. Is that ok?

You have been using earlier 5W20 (ZIC A+) and now you are facing with low compression issues.

Next, as you have told that you have shifted to 10W40 oil, which is again a bad selection of oil with regards to viscosity.

The correct oil for our climate here in Pakistan taking into consideration 1kr-fe engine is 5W30. Now since you have low compression issues, shift to 5W40. This is the max you can go in terms of thicker oil to give you some extra sealing.

Do not use 10W40 for 1kr-fe engine.

Also replace PCV valve as soon as possible.

NOTE: For most Japanese vehicles in Pakistan, 5W30 is the best oil viscosity for year round.

Thank you for your detailed answer. I will definitely change the oil type . But before that do I need to get the piston repair ( bore work). and should I go for 5w30 or 5w40.
2ndly what's the location of PCV valve in Passo.

Once you get the bore and piston rings redone, you may use 5W30. Do the break-in at low RPM’s for the first 1500 KM. Change oil and filter after break-in period is completed, that is 1500 KM.

Sorry, with regards to Passo I am not aware of PCV valve location.

Ok but I think the low viscous oil would again cause problem in summer.
If I change oil to low viscosity without piston rings/ bore done would it solve the problem.

@gull_9 Its your great planning to buy Passo i recommend you Japanese car because i use this model. I buy car from Mykautotraders. They import 100% genuine & non accidental Japanese Used cars within affordable price. Actually they are Japanese cars exporters. Its my opinion only.

You have already had excess wear and tear than normal using 5W20 (Zic A+). Now you want to try 0W20 or 5W20 again?

Your choice bro. But I recommend 5W30. As far as brand is concerned, use Liquimoly or Total oils with SN grade certification. I do not trust ZIC oil as a good performing oil.

With 5W30, you can also floor the throttle without any fear.

Later on once you have done with your break-in, Use BESTLINE engine oil additive. Do not use Liquimoly MoS stuff. You will just waste your money.

Bestline engine additive is the best rated additive currently across the globe. I am using it in my car which has done 200000+ KM. The engine is smooth, noiseless like brand new.

I am also facing issue of oil reduction. Bought passo 2013 with ~30k on odo on purchase (verified auction sheet). I have have used liqui moli 5w30. It started reducing oil when I changed engine oil, transmission oil at ~47k. CAT converter was also changed as it was damaged according to the mechanic. All this was done from a well reputed (popular @ pakwheels) in Rawalpindi. After that it started reducing oil. After 6-7k I switched to Mobil 5w30 as I was in Lahore and Liqui moli was not available and I had to travel for long distance. Problem continued. Today again visited that reputed workshop in Rawalpindi. He said car needs work on rings and head as it is producing smoke (conversation was on mobile as I was present at that time). Whole assembly will cost ~28k or so. I think its like swapping engine. I was not satisfied as car never got heat up at least in my use, Liqui moli was mostly used. He gave me other option of switching to viscous oil(10w40) and he also suggested cleaning of fuel filter. I accepted last options for the time being. Later after oil change when I visited workshop I observed in front of that mechanic that car was not producing any smoke. I asked him whether I can switch back to previous viscosity which he denied. Now on my way back home I observed engine was louder especially above 100km/hr, pick was also reduced above that speed, mileage was ~17 km/l. I request you people to please guide me.
