Reduction in engine oil level with only 47,000 KM clocked is a clear indication of poorly maintained car or previous history of poorly maintained at the time of purchase as a second hand car.

Damaged CAT is also one big indication at only 47000 KM on the ODO.

Damage has been done. Next oil change, do the following:

1- Carryout engine flush using Liquimoly engine flush.
2- Change oil to 5W40 fully synthetic instead of 10W40.
3- Use high octane fuel from Total.
4- Replace air filter with genuine air filter.
5- Replace PCV valve.

Don't worry, all passos & boons reduce engine oil on long distances. 5w-30 is alright but I use 5w-20 Zic X7 Fe for the last 3 years 60000kms + in Pakistan drive. I buy 3 & 4 litre cans alternatively. I drive 5000 to 6000kms per oil change. Engine capacity is 3 litres, I top up oil 2 times first at 2000kms & second at 4000kms 200ml each time.
nothing to do with your rings or anything... enjoy and use car without fiddling it with local mechanics just top it up at regular intervals responsibily.
our environment and long distance drive makes oil to evaporate... In America it's common to top up oil.

Thanks for your reply. The first thing I did after buying Passo was oil change and used Liqui Moly. Odo meter was ~33k. (auction sheet was verified from mycar. Pk) Usual oil change intervals were 6-7k. Mostly used genuine oil and air filters except for the last time. As I mentioned I had to switch to Mobil due non availability of Liqui Moly. After 5k it was a bit above lower limit. Before this when it was on Liqui Moly I topped it after probably 2 or 3k (can't recall exactly). Bought Liqui Moly from Makki oil change shop near wapda town gol chakar (LHR) (once), twice from Imran Autos Saddar Rawalpindi once from Car Fest. I think Makki oil, and Imran Auto oils were genuine but not sure about the other. So in last 30k 4times Liqui Moly and once Mobil. Daily use is about 15km. One weekly trip to Rawalpindi (76km). Visit to Lahore after 2-3 months(or more).

Thanks for your kind reply. Here is the picture of two bottles(both still have some remaining oil). Yes I agree I have used semi synthetic oil. Fully synthetic 5w30 is available for last few months (at the most 08 months I think).

So should I change oil immediately or wait for 5k and see whether it reduces this oil(10w40). I am personally not satisfied with this 10w40 especially as it is not the recommended grade. Options are:
1) Switch to fully synthetic 5w30 Liqui Moly. Top up if needed. A bit concerned whether I can switch to a lower grade(5w30) than the previous grade(10w40).
2) Switch to 5w40 Liqui Moly on next oil change.

Liqui Molly is waste of money and an overdose for maintaining passo which is not a premium expensive car. Zic is equally rather better to opt for passo. it gives care 5000kms plus service & above all best in class fuel economy compared to any other oil brand. Tested & verified

I am grateful for your sincere, useful and heartening guidance. I was a bit disturbed due to my recent experience. However "burnt child dreads the fire". That's why I just don't want to take any risk at least now.

Bro as advised, stay away from ZIC.

You can also use Toyota 5W30 with API SN certification. I am not sure if it’s fully synthetic, but it Is up to manufacture recommendations and vehicle requirements. If it’s semi synthetic, then you have to replace at 5,000 KM instead of 8,000 or 10,000 KM.

Fully synthetic can be used up to 10,000 KM’s. Here I am talking about famous brands.

I am Zic user and used all synthetic brands... nothing gets better fuel economy than Zic X7 Fe 5w-20 and also the service kilometers per rupee it offers is the best.. have driven 60k plus using Zic mostly at 5000kms + oil change intervals.
