Guys is it a good idea to undercoat car with WD-40 once in a while to keep it from rust and corrosion?

Any other economical way of doing it?

Does anybody know if passo comes with a separate battery for eco-idle or smart start/stop function?

Or it uses the primary battery for it? In case the primary battery is used, wouldn't it be worn out sooner? (considering the frequency of eco-idle function coming into play because of traffic situation especially in Karachi). Since it's not a hybrid car, which is designed for such type of functionality and has much bigger battery.

Hence I'm assuming it's a good idea not to use the function more often. Thoughts please?

Passo doesn't have a separate battery for ECO IDLE function. I keep the ECO function disabled most of the time but switch it on when I'm certain that i'll be stationary at the coming signal for 2-3 minutes at least. It is also better to keep it off in slowly creeping traffic

**_Drove Passo 2015 Model on M-2 @ 130 km/Hr @ 50C outside temperature during last June, with A.C ON, and 5 adults on board. Resulting in Catalytic Converter Burnt out.
Got it cleaned mechanically, but mesh pieces were dripping out. Need to replace it. Please suggest some reliable source in Rawalpindi or in Lahore.

Fuel and engine oil additives, or engine miss fire...causing unburnt fuel into exhaust

There are generally 3 reasons for CAT clogging and failure:

1) Acute CAT failure is due to un-burnt fuel entering into exhaust system, due to ignition issues etc.

2) Gradual CAT chocking and failure is due to additives in petrol harmful to CAT and high ZInc content in engine oil. Latest SN grade introduced in 2010, has Zn content equal or less than 800 ppm. It is added to enhance lubricating properties of engine oil. With older oil grade rating like SL, the value of Zn is 1200 ppm or higher.

So, if an engine is misfiring due to any reason, unburnt fuel will reach CAT through exhaust and damage the catalytic converter.
